Great location and good family friendly resort

Great location and beautiful resort. The hotel staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the pool, fire pits on the beach and family friendly green space in the evening. We travelled with a two year old child and it worked out great. Only complaints, although minor were that the pillows were not comfortable at all and the room service often occurred during my daughters nap so we usually didn't get our room turned over. We highly reccommend and it would go back.

    Very expensive and outdated

It's nice resort, but very overpriced for how outdates the facilities are. Similarly priced resorts are much more upfront and updated. Beware of the $45 per night parking AND $45 per day resort fee. Everyone was very friendly and helpful, even though they are clearly understaffed.

Easily one of the best hotels in San Diego for any ocassion

WOW! now I understand why this is one of the best hotels in San Diego, the rooms are very comfortable with an amazing view of the bay, it has a very nice restaruant and bar, the gym is quite complete for any excercise and the pools have very warm water. the surounding areas are perfect to walk around or ride the bikes and they also have water sports and boat rentals, we will definately be back

    Disappointed

We stayed at the hotel only one night on December 31 - January 1. I was notified via text that the fitness center and recreational area were closed right after our check-in. The toiletries in the room were refillable/shareable. One of the sinks had a drainage problem and we had only one soap bottle for two sinks. One bed was more comfortable than the other. Overall, overpriced.

Kona Kai — you better stay here!

We adore the Kona Kai. We have been many times over the course of our 8 year boys lives and they adore the property as much as we do. It is so family centric, great spaces to connect, and amazing food and even better views. Location is ideal for Liberty Market, downtown/little Italy or mission. We love Kona Kai ❤️
