    Best Vacation We've Ever Experienced

We just got home from Impressions Isla Mujeres and it was our best vacation ever. My husband and I travel often and have been to many of the Secrets properties. There is no comparison to others we've visited. Secrets Impressions Isla Mujeres is immaculate, the views are stunning, the food is like dining at a three-star Michelin restaurant (the highest rating) and the service is above and beyond. From the moment we got to the Catamaran port, we were treated like royalty. We were regularly asked if we needed anything and everyone was extremely kind and polite. Upon arrival at the dock, we were greeted by our butler, Wedinzon (Wedi) and other staff. We were given cold towels, as it was warm and a cold drink (drinks were also provided on the Catamaran, both alcoholic and non). Our luggage was taken care of, we checked in and got a tour of the resort by Wedi. Eduardo, who was responsible for the UVC guests was awesome. (we have been members since 2017). He was attentive, kind and HILARIOUS! We really enjoyed him and how he cared for us. I felt like he and Wedi were in continuous communication about our daily schedule. We had plans some days and some not and there are MANY available activities. In addition to the basics like snorkeling, SUP and kayaking, they offered candle-making, bike tours, various exercise classes, wine tasting, paint & sip, etc. There are things to do 24/7 or you can just lounge by the ocean or one of the many pools all day and take in the beautiful views. We look forward to seeing Eduardo the next time we visit! I can't say enough about this place. I have to say Wedi made our vacation very special. When my husband told him we were very into craft breweries, he brought us craft beer from the area the next day. So thoughtful! Our other butler Erick was also great but because he worked later in the day into the night, we didn't see him as much (and he works on Wedi's days off). They communicate on What's App and were always very responsive. On the last full day we were at the resort it was very windy and the Catamaran port was closed. We thought we'd have to take a cab into town to take the regular ferry (on the resort's dime). We woke up to a message from Wedi that he'd sent around 1:30am, saying that the port was open and we could take the Catamaran - he'd connect with us in the morning. He wasn't even working at 1:30am but there he was, keeping us in the loop. He is THE BEST and truly cares about his guests. Some of the others who went over the top were Eric, our breakfast waiter at Spezia, Ervin (sp?), Caesar, Orlando at the ocean chairs/cabanas, Victor, Jose and Javier. We even ran into Jose in town on his day off! He remembered us and was so friendly. The spa is beautiful. We did a couple's massage and both masseuses were wonderful. I can't remember their names but I can assure you they only employ the best of the best. We spoke to others who had the same experience. The rooms were gorgeous and cleaned every day, twice, if needed. There's a mechanism outside your door to put a red or green light, that alerts housekeeping if you need the room cleaned. Caylor was our person and was awesome. The bar was regularly stocked with beer and top shelf liquor. All the bars in the hotel have top-shelf liquor, which was nice. Again, this is the most beautiful resort we've ever been to and we will be back!

Ultra Luxury and Beauty at Impressions Isla Mujeres

I just completed a one week stay at this amazing hotel with my daughter. The experience was incredible each and every day. The setting is stunning. The hotel offers lovely opportunities for wellness. Edgar and Angel Were our butlers. They made themselves available to support the best trip Possible. we felt so cared for by them both. There are so many names to Include in this review because all the staff are absolutely amazing. Pablo - one of the managers, checked in with us often. Rebekah, Jareth, Abraham and Tony were part of the amazing Entertainment Team and each one is very skilled in their own unique way. We participated in amazing art opportunities with Rebekah. Jareth studied with the Wiksarika Tribe and taught us Huichol Art. Abraham was so welcoming and helpful. Geronimo was so helpful at the beach and Antonio always made sure we had shade! Karen, Mar, Jonathon, and Nashiely kept us fed and hydrated by the water. Katie, Carlos and Mauricio were attentive waiters at the restaurants. We kayaked, walked to punta Sur for sunrise and rented a golf cart to explore the amazing island. I highly recommend Impressions Isla Mujeres and can’t wait to return a second time!

    Spring Break Relaxing Stay

It feels pertinent to begin this review with a few details: I’m currently sitting by the pool at Impressions, sipping a strawberry mojito, writing this while the experience is still fresh. I’m a middle school teacher and a parent of toddlers, which means I don’t get a lot of free time—one of the many reasons this trip mattered. I come from a place known for good food and wine, and I also spent a year living in central Mexico, staying with local families across a range of backgrounds. That gave me a deep appreciation for Mexican food and culture—away from resorts, tourism, and curated experiences. My food preferences run from “fine dining” to “taco truck,” and that mix absolutely shaped my impressions here. TL;DR: Every moment of our three-day stay was incredible. Truly perfect. ⸻ Food The resort offers several restaurants, each with its own vibe. We had arrachera (a flavorful steak cut popular in Mexico) more than once—it was even delivered to the beach and pool. The dish came with excellent tortillas, guacamole, and simple beans. It instantly reminded me of meals I’d had on the streets of Aguascalientes. The only thing missing? Nopales (cactus), but that’s the only complaint I can muster. Most meals were solid, though not mind-blowing. But at Spezia, the Italian restaurant, I had a standout lamb dish—perfectly cooked, served with roasted eggplant and a red pepper chutney. I’d gladly order that at any upscale restaurant without a second thought. I considered getting a second plate but opted for passionfruit cheesecake instead. ⸻ Pools There are four pools on the property: • One is heated and secluded (not my favorite—already hot). • One is small, also secluded, with an ocean view and a peaceful vibe—but needed more shade and comfier chairs. • The main pool is the best: gorgeous views, comfy seating, and a swim-up bar (a truly perfect invention). • The rooftop pool looked beautiful, but we skipped it—our pale skin craved shade over sun. ⸻ Drinks Every cocktail I had was excellent—and there were many. Palomas, margaritas, Bahama Mamas, maracuyá mezcalitas… all solidly made. I didn’t ask for anything fancy, but if you like fun, fruity resort drinks, they’ve got you covered at every bar. ⸻ Beach & Dock There’s a small beach area, though we mostly saw it unused. The dock, however, was our favorite hangout. It’s shaped like a square, with cabanas all around. We spent hours there—reading, sipping drinks, eating arrachera, and watching the waves. Unexpected bonus: some great snorkeling right off the dock. Clear water, plenty of fish—not Hawaii-level variety, but still delightful. ⸻ Activities Snorkeling gear is available anytime, with guided sessions offered twice a day. Life jackets are encouraged but optional. There’s a wide variety of scheduled activities—indigenous art sessions, e-bike tours, tarot readings, yoga, and cooking or language classes. We only joined the candle-making class with Jerrod—and it was a highlight. He was fun, relaxed, and informative, explaining the oils and herbs. It took place in Cacao, the coffee shop, so we enjoyed lattes while crafting candles. A perfect break from the heat. Much of our time was spent reading on the dock, listening to the waves. One of my goals for this trip was to feel bored—a strange but freeing feeling, considering the usual busyness of life. And when I needed a little movement or fun, I’d snorkel or hit the waterslide (which I did a few times a day). ⸻ The Luxury Experience With daily life being nonstop, I came into this trip with high expectations. They were exceeded. From the moment we arrived, everything felt like intentional luxury. The waiting area on the dock was peaceful and stocked with drinks and snacks. Every staff member we met—bartenders, servers, slide attendants, maintenance, housekeeping, cooks—was warm, welcoming, and clearly invested in making our experience special. Our butlers, Mose and Omar, were phenomenal. They checked in often and genuinely enhanced our stay. Our room was beautifully outfitted: soft linens, strong A/C, a 4K TV, plush rain showers, and a balcony with a partial ocean view—though it wasn’t even booked as an “ocean view” room. My partner loved the Le Labo bath products. I washed my beard with the shampoo and… I get it now. Everything felt well-thought-out and elegant. ⸻ Departure Note (From the Airport) We took the last catamaran out (7 PM) to catch an early flight. It just happened to be at sunset. I was allowed to bring one last Paloma on board. As I watched the cabanas and friendly staff fade into the distance, I felt genuinely sad to leave. The transfer back (through USA Transfers) was timely and professional. ⸻ Final Verdict: 10/10. Would absolutely return.

A very high end, attentive hotel for a relaxing holiday

I am on my last night of a 14 night stay. This resort is very very good! It’s a high end luxury hotel where the staff are exemplary. After day one - everyone you interact with will know your name and room number. You will never ever queue for a drink at a bar or to get into a restaurant. This is my seventh secrets and it suited me perfectly. I love the smaller sized resort. There are no sunbed wars. Plenty of places to lie - from the rooftop, any of the pools in between or by the sea - in the sun or shade. The waiters and waitresses at the beach / decking serve food and drink all day. They never stop. The gentleman that looks after the beach area brings your towels, sets up the parasol and will help you in any way he can. Restaurants - can book via the app, the iPad in your room, WhatsApp your butler or just walk in. I really enjoyed Sake and Spezia. Sushi was delicious and had some good meals at Spezia. The food could definitely be served hotter and my evening meal at Unik wasn’t great. Overall though - all very good and certainly not most normal AI quality. All restaurant quality. I had a couple of meals on my first few days where I had to wait quite a long time to eat but this never happened again as the fortnight went on (maybe they improved or because I didn’t go back to those - La Vista for lunch, Spezia for breakfast and Unik for dinner were all slow.. BUT Spezia for dinner and Unik for breakfast = excellent!). Angel and Edgar were my 2 butlers and Edgar especially was excellent. So attentive and responsive to all WhatsApp Qs and requests - he came found me every single day to see if I needed anything. Spa - expensive but good. Jan especially was excellent. Really liked the type of day and evening activity this hotel offers. I never normally ‘join in’ any resort based activities! I go on holiday to read and relax. But I really liked the wellbeing type offerings here. Not at all intimidating. I joined a sound bath class, I went to tarot, crystal healing and reiki. There was snorkelling, paddle boarding, kayaking and bike tours available too. Karaoke, fire show, djs, silent disco etc too. It is not a party party resort but a very chilled one where you can get very good cocktails / drinks and enough going on. I missed the big beach and access to the whole ocean at Maroma for example but other than that.. I’m not sure I could want anything more from a holiday.

    Amazing!

From the second we stepped foot on the private dock to wait for the catamaran we have been treated like royalty. Impressions is 100% worth every penny spent. The butlers Omar and mose were top notch and made the experience even better! We have stayed at other all inclusive hotels and had butlers, somehow Omar and mose made us feel like they were only tending to us. I can’t say enough good things about Impressions and we will absolutely be back!
