Convenient Stay in Downtown St. Louis

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis for a conference and had a mostly positive experience. The location is fantastic – right in downtown and within walking distance of the Gateway Arch, which was super convenient. The lobby is beautiful, with a nice bar, pool table, and free water available for guests, which was a thoughtful touch. Parking is convenient but pricey at $40 per night for self-parking. Check-in was quick and easy, which I appreciated. There’s also a Starbucks on the first floor and a fitness center, adding to the convenience. The downside was the room itself. The beds were advertised as queens but felt more like full-sized, and the standard rooms are pretty small. We also had an issue with the air conditioning not working, which required maintenance and eventually a room change. While the staff handled it well, it was still a bit of an inconvenience. Some areas of the hotel, like the floors, felt a little dated and run down. Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want to be downtown near the Arch and enjoy easy access to the city’s attractions. The lobby and amenities stand out, but the rooms could use some updates. Still, a solid option for a convenient and comfortable stay!

    Great Stay

This is a clean hotel with wonderful customer service. The team went above and beyond to meet our needs and they did it all with a smile and positive attitude. Our room exceeded my expectations and the lobby was comfortable to sit and read in the morning. I would stay here again no questions asked!

    Hotel with a view

The hotel was clean and updated which is huge to me when traveling. The staff was friendly and the views from the room were gorgeous at night, despite not having a view of the arch. We did walk over to view the arch at night time; which I’d highly recommend. It’s much prettier at night time and very quiet with the opportunity to wander the space without people around!

    St.louis / Arch

We had actually arrived a day early and Mel had found a way to add that day to our already existing reservation making the total price more reasonable, and she just was very kind and did everything she could to make our stay comfortable. Also at night as I would take my dogs out there final night potty, the night staff was very friendly offering treats to my fur babies, they loved those treats and looked forward to them after the first 2 days and they had also loved the special attention from Jim another night check in attendant , we were there for a wk, I highly recommend!!

    Expected Luxury and got hate!

When I was checking in the hotel staff were just rude and condescending! It was 11pm after driving 6 hours I was tired and booked the hotel in advance via telephone and said I will be brining pets. But the staff was like you want to add $100 pet free to this? And I said yeah. The tone in his voice was just belittling. Then I asked for valet parking, and they never came down. So I went back to the same guy and he said are you checking out? I said no, I just checked in! No one has showed up to pick up my car. So I waited for longer. Super tired at this point. Then I looked at the charges on my card and it was a lot more than expected. So I went back to the front desk there is a different person. And I ask her that there is a mess up in the charges. And without looking at my account or asking my name she said you know it’s a deposit like when you rent a Stanley steamer or apartment you have a deposit! And she went on like this for a while. It was just so condescending and rude! Like I paid so much for this place and I expect luxury! But was just offered hate! Only good part was that it was close to the Arch and pet friendly. If you’re not doing the Arch not worth it! Then we saw a possum eating trash outside in the front area when we took our dog out on a walk! Wild!
