Middling room, no housekeeping
As others have said, there is absolutely nothing special about these hotel rooms. Pros: The buffet breakfast at the Railroad Stop (we had vouchers) was delicious. Highlights were the good-quality bacon and the homemade granola. Chef Noel was super personable, as were the hostesses. I noticed that one hostess got our drinks for us and the other didn't, not sure why. I will say a little more variety in the breakfast would be nice. The first day had "chef's choice" which was a lovely addition I missed on the weekend. Pancakes or waffles would have been nice, too. The property itself is pretty, though I didn't spend much time there outside of my room and the breakfast cafe. Cons: -Bathroom is on the small side with limited counter space and no tub. -No dresser/drawers if you are someone who likes to unpack your bag (I am). -The bottom sheet seemed like a flat sheet, so it came loose as soon as we pulled up the covers to climb into bed. We had to keep readjusting it every day because... -NO HOUSEKEEPING SERVICE! The first morning, they tried our room at 8am and were kind of alarmingly persistent about trying to enter. Once I called out that we were in the room (because they didn't get the hint from the locks), they moved on. I made sure to get the attendant's attention when we left to tell her we were leaving, but our room did not get cleaned. The next day, I specifically asked at the front desk before we left for the day, and still no one serviced our room. Oh, and though I could see a terrycloth robe hanging in the floor housekeeping closet that they kept open while working, there were no robes in our room, just some slippers on the shelf at the top of the closet. The middling hotel room maybe could be made up for with superior service, and that did not happen. We won't stay here again.

Hyatt Sonoma needs improvement
Hotel looks better outside than inside. Got a room with 2 beds rather than the king room reserved months in advance. Not notified that the room in cleaned only every other day. No water for coffee, actually no coffee. Room hand held phone did not work.

A Solid and Comfortable Wine Country Home Base
Very comfortable stay with beautiful grounds, including a nice pool and hot tub as well as great seating areas to enjoy the sun. Rooms are comfortable and recently renovated, though a bit dark. Beds are very comfortable and all other amenities are great. Hotel offers codes for free and discounted wine tastings as well which we took advantage of.

Great starting point to visit Santa Rosa/Sonoma/Napa
This is an excellent starting point for exploring Santa Rosa, Sonoma, and Napa. We stayed here for a girls' getaway and were welcomed with wine at check-in, which was a lovely gesture. I used my GOH to secure an upgrade to a larger room, which was clean and offered plenty of space for us. The staff was very helpful; we had an issue with the toilet not flushing, and while I was about to call the front desk, I ran into a housekeeping staff member who checked on it. By the time we returned to our room, the problem was resolved. I really appreciated the "brevi" machine in the lobby for sparkling water, though having to go down to the lobby each time was somewhat inconvenient. I suggest that the hotel add a machine on each floor to make it more accessible for guests, especially late at night. Breakfast was outstanding, and the staff at the Railroad Stop restaurant were warm and accommodating. On the downside, the daily resort/destination fee of $39.90 felt excessive and unwarranted. I had hoped that applying my GOH would waive the fee, but the front desk informed me that it could not be waived.

Just another hotel…
This is a nice hotel with updated rooms and bathrooms. Clean and quiet. Generally, the hotel is clean and in good condition. It is located right off of the 101 but road noise did not seem to be an issue. Convenient to downtown as well as the wineries in the area. There did appear to be a “rush hour” around 3:30-4pm in and around the city so beware. Three complaints: First, it is ridiculous to charge $20/day for parking. It is a standard hotel location with plenty of parking. I would park on the street if I were to stay here again. Just no call for charging for parking other than a money grab. Second, the resort fee is also ridiculous, especially for the off season as the only real “resort” amenity is the very nice outdoor pool which was empty as swimming season was over. Everything else offered is standard for just about any level of hotel in this category. Third, upon check in at 3pm, we asked the two “hostesses” at the front desk for recommendations on nearby wineries given it was getting late in the day. They both looked at us as if we thought we were staying at the Hyatt Regency Sonoma Wine Country”!! Not one iota of information, no suggestions, no nothing. Really?? I would not stay here again for the cost as they seem to think that they are something that they are not. It’s just another hotel…
