Perfect place to stay
Just wrapped up a stay at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Rochester. The location is truly prime, situated right on Main Street along the Genesee River – perfect for guests attending any of the numerous downtown events and festivals, which literally happen right outside the door. Even with shared parking, the garage's multiple exits are a great feature for navigating event traffic. The hotel itself is spacious with all the expected amenities: breakfast, bar, coffee shop, 24-hour market kiosks, and a seasonal rooftop spot. Plenty of meeting space is available for larger groups. My room on a high floor was comfortable, and clean, and offered lovely city views. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Interestingly, it seems to be a popular choice for flight crews, which speaks to its consistent quality. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend the Hyatt Regency downtown for guests who want to be in the absolute center of everything Rochester has to offer. It's a fantastic base for experiencing the city's vibrant atmosphere.

Highly reccomend.
Staff was incredibly helpful and welcoming for our work convention. Facilities were clean, and well organized. First convention I've been to where presenters did not run into any technical issues with sound/projectors. Would stay again for personal travel too. Great location and views of the city.

Just okay but with a nice staff
Overall the hotel was clean and better than expected. The staff was very friendly. It was the little things that were just off. No hair dryer, no wipes or towels in the gym, toilets hard to flush. Breakfast buffet was gross. Made to order was better.

Horrible
Horrible place. Thin walls, unfriendly staff. Old crappy hotel. Avoid this dumpster. Really bad experience and service. Do not go to this hotel. Thin walls, unclean shower, lazy receptionists lots of construction also going around and could be heard all day and night long. Absolutely terrible.

"Mixed Experience: Great Staff, but the Hotel Needs Improvement"
I stayed at this property for work and had a mixed experience. Upon arrival, there was only one person at the front desk, Joe, who was juggling multiple responsibilities. He did his best to assist with my luggage while managing an overnight shift. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my stay. The room was extremely dusty, and my sink was clogged for the entire time despite maintenance attempts to fix it. I also noticed that the housekeeping staff had poor hygiene practices. While Veronica was fantastic, and Daysha and Joe tried their best, there were some unacceptable moments. A trainee named Rebecca seemed overwhelmed and sent an Uber driver to my room without my knowledge, which raised safety concerns. She clearly needs more training before handling customer interactions. Additionally, one of the male bartenders was rude and passive-aggressive, which was disappointing. On a positive note, Lisa, Cheryl Jasmine were wonderful and made my stay much more enjoyable. They truly stood out as exceptional staff members, and I would have requested a room change if it weren't for their kindness. Veronica was very hospitable, and the coffee shop staff—including Carson, Ray Ray, and Jasmine—were incredibly sweet. The slender security guard was also very helpful. Overall, the hotel has great people working there, but it needs significant improvements. The rooms require deep cleaning, and simple maintenance like changing lamp shades is necessary. The chair in my room had a large tear upon arrival. The breakfast staff were excellent, and although I didn’t catch all their names, the servers and cooks were delightful. The gym could use some enhancements, and I noticed hair in the pool during my visit, indicating a need for better upkeep. In conclusion, I rate the hotel staff a 5 out of 5, but unfortunately, the hotel itself only gets a 2.5. With better maintenance and training for some staff, this hotel could greatly improve.
