Water Slides Only Good Thing About This Place

I was really disappointed in our experience. While I was not expecting this stay to be anything fancy or extravagant, I did expect a clean, comfortable room. You could just tell how rundown the rooms looked from walking in. There was someone else's hair in the shower and there was also someone's hair literally flying in the air on the sliding door to our balcony when it would be open. The pool area was incredibly packed the entire time we were there (spring break) and I wasn't surprised by this, but it also proves my point on how many families are likely in and out of this hotel on a daily basis. The AC in our room did not work the first night. We called the front desk twice (waiting 20-30 minutes in between) to have someone come take a look and no one ever came!!! Frustrated and after a day of traveling with the kids, we gave up and try to get some sleep. At some point, I even opened the sliding door for some air at night. The next morning, I talked to the front desk who got us another room and offered us a $100 credit, but the experience still felt mediocre. The second night at the hotel, but first day in our second room.... our key-card reader on our door stopped working. It seemed like maintenance was always in one of the rooms around us fixing something. These small inconveniences on top of what already did not feel like a very clean room will definitely have us looking somewhere else next time.

    Anniversary Trip

Beautiful view from, quiet considering the proximity to the airport. Very clean rooms, and extremely friendly staff. The beds were very comfortable. Only slight concern was the wet floors due to the pool being right in front of the main entrance to the tower. Nonetheless, we will come back!!

Disappointing experience at the Hyatt Mission Bay, Hotel and spa in San Diego.

I paid $460 for Saturday night and $420 for Sunday night. The room was mediocre at best; There was nothing special or luxurious. Service was lousy. I asked for wine glasses and a wine opener, and I was advised by the employee taking my call that she would have to check with the manager regarding my request. I finally did receive the wine glasses, but they were very cheap and unattractive. My son, daughter-in-law, and my three grandsons were staying in a different room; my daughter-in-law was attending a neurology conference. They both agreed with me that we would never stay at this hotel again. What an utter disappointment.

    There are better Hyatt's

Average Hyatt at best. restaurant substandard. No early morning coffee unless you walked down the boardwalk well away from the hotel. why not coffee in the lobby as many hotels do. Sound insulation not the best. heard the couple next door last night as well as the elevator (our room was next to it). Room was clean and view was tremendous. Staff was pleasant. Overall a good stay, just Hyatt can do so much better.

Needs to do better on the basics

While the staff was friendly and responsive once an issue was raised, the actual experience left too much to be desired regarding the smaller things one expects. For example, the in-room coffee machine didn't work; the TV remote control didn't work; it took over 30 mins (after multiple unanswered calls) and required the front disk to use internal communications to reach the restaurant to place an order for in-room dining (which still required the guest to pick up from the restaurant); the restaurant coffee was consistently luke warm. Housekeeping had to be called to ensure room was cleaned before end of day. These shortcomings seem to reflect the lack of attention to detail by management. Again, the staff was consistently friendly.
