    Hyatt regency Jersey City

Even though the hotel is undergoing renovations, it was still a nice experience. The location is the main draw. The bar and the reastaurant have been moved to the 1st floor and is really small but it was cozy. Once the hotel is 100% operational it will be excellent in all aspects once again.

    Terrible breakfast experience

The hotel itself was nice, however my four friends and I (14-18 years of age) were purposely misinformed to scam us into spending an unreasonable amount of money at the breakfast buffet. When walking into the dining room, my friend shared a commented making sure that this breakfast was complimentary, as there was no visible sign telling us otherwise and it appeared to be a continental breakfast. The greeter at the door was standing right next to us, and chose not to comment and clarify my friend’s comment. Because it was a buffet, we grabbed plates and began serving ourself. The food was overall okay, but there were some items that we thought looked somewhat questionable and there was nothing very special about it, and many items were store bought. Throughout our meal, we were only approached once to be asked if we wanted something to drink, and we said no thank you. This was the only time we were waited on, which will be important later. Towards the end of our meal, we were abruptly approached and asked how we would like to pay. We were caught off-guard by this as there was no warning or indication that we would be charged. However, we didn't protest and put one of our cards down. Total, our meal was $145, and gratuity was automatically added even though we were a party of 4 and was barely even waited on. This price was outrageous, as we were charged per person and not with what we actually ate. Some of us only got small single servings of one item and were still charged over $30 per meal. We were met with miscommunication and felt that as young girls we were being taken advantage of and exploited.

Room was downgraded with no notice

Was downgraded from a Hudson River Suite (balcony and nyc skyline view) to a Ellis Suite (no balcony and view of NJ and Statue of Liberty) with no notice or compensation. Room had stains on carpet and couch. Severely disappointed. Would never book again.

Looking forward to stay here again once the renovation is completed

Very nice hotel, great view, great location, path station is right outside. Plus walking distance through the boardwalk to malls nearby. Room service was excellent, appreciate for bringing a microwave to my room after I requested. I would definitely stay here again if I need to visit new york city next time

    Beautiful view of Manhattan Skyline!

Best unobstructed view of middle and lower Manhattan. Lots of places to eat. Super convenient with PATH train connecting to the WTC is steps away. The staff are very helpful and efficient. Our room is very clean and nicely appointed. Had some issues with " chromecasting" but figured it out with the help of my son. This is now my go to hotel when I visit NYC. Less expensive than Manhattan yet easy to travel to Manhattan.
