Riveraside Relaxin'
It’s tough these days to stage an elaborate disappearance, short of the Witness Protection Program. Still, I can go to extremes in the selfish dream of escape. That’s why I live in FL. Hop in a car, a short road trip, there’s a few hotels I like to hang a Do-Not-Disturb sign against, well, the works... One of my faves is the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront. An oasis of calm and cool in the city’s buzzy urban beehive? Yes! Smack on the city’s vast waterways, the hotel showboats that great digs come in fab coastal packages. Start with its awesome mind-blowing perch on the St. Johns river. Add in an airy lobby entrance, top it with a groovy rooftop outdoor heated pool, and sandwiched in between, superb rooms, a serious gym and must-eat in-house restaurants like Tavern, Shors Seafood Grill and Morton's The Steakhouse – and an excellent Regency Club to plush it up. Hospitably throughout one’s stay is harmonious and always ready to lend a cheerful helping hand, tuned to perfect pitch by GM Jeff Thompson and Assistant Director of Operations Julien Woerpel, who team to helm a superb staff. In short, it all conjures an outstanding blend of comfort, whether for leisure or business, and a welcome closed door on the nearby downtown bustle - yet walkable to flavorsome local eateries, brew pubs and hip entertainment venues. My happy hideaway place in the hotel to go with the river flow and soul-drift away? Well, I’m loath to say and tempted to give out wildly wrong directions to get to Jacksonville, but I’ll be gracious…hole up in the 18th flr. sumptuous aerie of the St. John suite for blissful solitude, spectacular panoramic waterway and city vistas, intoxicating sunsets and, naturally, cocktail hour whenever the mood strikes. Cheers!

Overpriced, poorly managed, and absolutely not recommended.
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront for one night in March 2025, and it was an utterly deplorable experience. The hotel is disorganized and feels unsafe, which is inexcusable for the outrageous $400 room rate. I was promised a “very nice” view, only to get a semi-obstructed, dismal look at a dirty roof - no upgrade available while the hotel is empty. The pool deck was a disgrace—covered in dirty towels—and the spa had been inexplicably turned into a flower bed. The restaurant food left me with food poisoning, waking me up in misery. Self-parking is a rip-off at $38, with rude staff yelling at you if you take a wrong turn. Worst of all, instead of deep cleaning the sofa backseats and pillowcases, they slap cheap Amazon substitutions on top and call it a day.

Great Location-In Dire Need of Upgrade and Attention To Bathroom
Great location with awesome restaurants (Mortons & Tavern). Rooms were clean (except bathroom) both in desperate need of upgrades. Bathroom had an old matt thrown in tub for slippage but literally looked "thrown-in" and the vent was covered with dust and rusted.

Weekend blast
The hotel was clean and comfortable our family enjoyed our stay ! The staff was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again if we come back to Jacksonville area. The rooftop pool and 24 hour cafe and food options were by far our favorite amenities.

Awesome place on the river.
Wonderful place that we highly recommend. Rooms are beautiful and well kept and the staff were all nice and very attentive. We hardly used our car while we were there because the hotel has everything we need. Also on the river so perfect for a nice walk.
