Marriott Crown Center
The location was great and the front desk and bell hop were super friendly and helpful. The thing that wasn't good was the beds. There weren't any mattress pads or fitted sheets on the beds and the sheet they had down wasn't long enough to cover the mattress. Also my daughter's duvet cover was dirty. She works for a Marriott hotel and she didn't want me to call down, but also knows this is not how they do things. This was only a one night stay or else I would have called the front desk anyway. Just so disappointing because I really love the Marriott brand. Will try the Westin next time I'm in KC

Great location, nice property
Hotel was nice. Not spectacular or anything, but nice. Lobby spacious, room seemed to be updated. Bathrooms have also been updated except the tub/showers are still pretty dated and the water pressure coming from the showerhead is terrible. The desk chair in my room was broken. I let the front desk know and within a couple hours a replacement was delivered. Within walking distance of Union Station and downtown. Overall good experience.

Property not what it used to be - In Need of REPAIR
stayed here recently while visiting KC for a Chiefs game. have stayed here at least 10 times and lived in KC. Sheraton acquired this property from Hyatt - and did not improve anything. The property is now very aged and in desperate need of improvement. it would likely take 30 to 50 million to get this up to par. here are a list of observations: 1- rooms are sparse and it appears hotel/mgmt/ownership is trying to get by 2 - no housekeeping ever came - despite us asking for it and we were on the club level 3 - club level is a joke - it is now the old Peppercorn Duck Club on the mezzanine floor with terrible food 4- Spectators is hit or miss. menu posted on the reader board is not even close to what they offer - the actual menu is better 5 - our TV in the room only accessed digital broadcast channels. no smart tv, no cable - you press GUIDE and nothing happened. gave up on getting any attention. Bottom line without going on and on - stay elsewhere until the renovate this property. we will not return until it undergoes a major renovation.

A good stay with just a couple glitches.
The hotel is lovely. It's based in brutalism as far as design is concerned but the renovation they did makes it welcoming and warm. It's a gut reno as well....rooms and lobby. It's really good. The front desk was very helpful and nice. The valet was hit or miss. Three times I was unable to get my car and had to go to the front desk. I had asked for a second comforter and blanket - the room was pretty cold. The maids kept taking away the second comforter. The bar is on the second level, but should be in the massive lobby...there's enough room for it. I think you miss out not having a lobby bar.

Blah
I usually upgrade to their club room, I chatted to an agent at the front desk about 30 minutes to check in to check if that was possible, yes was the answer and it would be $50, however upon arriving was told that only platinum members were being offered the upgrade. I read the hotel had recently been renovated, it appeared that parts of it were. In the room the decor was pleasant, bed was comfortable but hardly new, view was nice over the city, bathroom was dated, carpet appeared newish, however there was a watermark outside the bathroom, still damp. I reported it in the app via chat.
