Overall a Good Stay
I dealt with 3 different staff members at 3 different times of the day/night. They were all super nice and super helpful. Great location in a nice part of downtown. Rooms are super clean and have just been redone. Comfortable bed. Only issue was the linens could use updating. Pillows are nice but have lost much of their life. Towels are worn a bit thin and there are no actual blankets. Just what look to be summer weight bedspreads. It was Maine in January. Glad the heat worked well because I had to turn it up to be warm while I slept. But that wouldn't keep me from going back.

Renovations
We have stayed here many times. It’s located in a great location. Easy access to all the great shops and restaurants of the old port. We had no clue it was under renovation with limited services. Guests should know in advance if the hotel is under construction.

Average in an above-average city
We stayed there during the winter, which means a lot of the place was closed off. The website did not advise us that the top floors were closed for renovations. These may be finished before Spring. Check before reserving. Staff is friendly and competent. The place is well-laid out to take advantage of the Old Port IF you can get a table or high floor in front. Rooms and everything else is relentlessly Gen Z with Elm Street decor. This Hyatt wants you to scan a QR to do anything, as if this makes the stay enjoyable. For example, you are urged to scan a QR code to check on the progress of the renovation construction: Somehow you are expected to feel better when you can review the plumbing renovations on the rooms you can't check into. ) Our room had a small window on the 4th floor that looked out on the empty winter parking lots behind the building; the good views aren't available thsi winter.) The saddest QR codes are the signs advising yopu that you tip the housekeepers and other staff using a QR code, tips needed because the Hyatt owners don't pay folks enough. We were urged to tip for the breakfast buffet even though there was no waitstaff. Be careful of the shower doors; you can get a finger painfully jammed between them. Breakfast is far less depressing than similar chains, but costs $10 a guest.

Perfect Anniversary
The Hyatt is our favorite place to celebrate our December wedding anniversary. Reserve a room with a Fore Street view, cosy up on the couch with the soft cotton blanket and watch the peaceful, quiet streets of late night December. So close to many wonderful local stores and restaurants - like Cheese Louise for a late night snack! Breakfast is delicious, the staff is friendly and welcoming. And December prices are definitely a bargain!

Very Good
The overall experience was great. The parking was extremely easy and when you wanted your vehicle, all you had to do was text or take a picture of the barcode. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Fast check in. The room was better than we had expected. Full couch and king size bed. Very clean. View of Fore Street and the sun rise was great over the buildings well laying in bed was spectacular. Would stay there again!!!
