Surprise Surcharge
This is a well-maintained older hotel. The beds were fine and the breakfast was good. We did not use the airport shuttle service. The front desk was always staffed with friendly, knowledge people. My only concern was a Surcharge at this hotel that I wasn't aware of until checkin. The woman explained that the owner wanted to collect money so that he/she/they could repair the elevator, etc. without having to ask the corporate office for money. It seemed strange and cost us an additional $15 on a three-night stay. The surcharge does show up as a separate line item on the bill and it is front-end loaded so that the folks who stay only one night pay the most.

Nice Overnight Stay
I arrived past midnight and needed a hotel near the airport for my meeting there next morning. This hotel perfectly served my purpose. The room was very clean with nice design. I liked the bathroom design in particular. The only wish was for the shower to have different water spray options. The bed was very comfortable so I had a really good sleep. I forgot to bring my slippers so I walked barefooted but I did not feel any dust on my feet. The room had so many power outlets including European outlets. Breakfast was ordinary - not so good and not so bad, but the dining area was very clean. I liked the lobby, too, for it was very clean and nicely designed. The staff was very nice. The morning staff tried to help me until my need was met. I was very impressed by her kindness. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone, especially those who need to stay overnight for an early flight or a meeting next morning.

Broken TV at the Holiday Inn Express
The front desk clerk was totally apathetic upon my arrival. It was late at night, but she offered no guidance or information only a room number and a yawn. Not the least bit friendly. She offered no information about breakfast until I asked. When I got to the room the TV was not working. I called the front desk and ask her for help. She wanted me to fix it myself. I tried I could not get it to work. She offered another room on a different floor or at the far end of the hall. I asked if she could bring the keys to the room and she refused . Next time I’m in Omaha I will avoid this hotel. This is not the usual experience at an IHG hotel.

Great stay
Excellent hotel. Many hotels are minimizing their rooms by not providing surfaces to put things on. The rooms in this hotel provided more that adequate space and even thought through how people would use the room. Most of the time the mirror provided outside the bathroom doesn’t have outlets nearby or a flat surface, this one did. It was better designed than most hotels. The room was clean and they used Dove brand toiletries. The breakfast was pretty typical of a holiday inn express, not very exciting but adequate. The hotel is near the airport but was quiet. They clean your room every 5 days, but you could submit a request at the front desk to have your room cleaned or provide clean towels, etc.

They saved the day!
We had made arrangements with a nearby hotel to check in at 1:00 the day of our arrival because we had an afternoon wedding in Omaha and needed to get ready. However, the receptionist there wasn’t very cooperative. So we showed up at holiday Inn and asked if they could accommodate us. The receptionist was very accommodating and did everything she could to help. We got into a room quickly, and made it to the church on time. We paid about $50 more for the night than we would have, but it was worth it. The only thing I didn’t care for was the smell of chlorine when we walked in. They do have a pool but an overwhelming smell like that usually means it’s not cool enough in the room or very well ventilated. But that was the only thing I noticed. Everything else was very nice.
