ok for short work trip
I was intown for a conf that was being held here. I checked in online and still had to stop at the desk after I was unable to access then elevator. They also had to give me a card for the lounge. The lounge was ok, nothing to write home about. Room was ok but in need of a remake.. I was not given a upgrade but was asked when checking in online if I wanted to buy a upgrade...

Not a 4 star hotel
Very unhappy with this supposed 4 star hotel. Rips and stains on the carpet and walls. I've been itching since we got here 2 hrs ago. Rented bc of nice pool only to be told it closed for the season yesterday and won't refund me because I paid un advance...when I didn't think a 4 star hotel could be anything short of very nice...boy was wrong. Super nice front desk staff but currently trying to find somewhere else to stay for tonight it's 10pm

The WORST HILTON experience I have EVER had
I recently stayed at the Hilton Charlotte University Place in Charlotte, NC on Friday, August 23 - one night - with a check out on Saturday, August 24. I booked the room via Priceline (Confirmation #775449914). If I am not to the first, let me be the first to report this is the worse HILTON I have ever visited. I am a DJ and radio personality and I travelled there 3.5 hours DJ an event with the hopes that the hotel would provide me ultimate rest. . . to the contrary. When I arrived at around 7:45pm, I must say that the front desk folks were great. I was given my key for a 3rd floor room and when the doors of the elevator opened, I was slapped in the face hard by an overwhelming aroma of marijuana. I continued to my room to freshen up and meet my friend for dinner. Upon leaving the room, I observed a very bad fight . . . very bad . . . there were about 7-10 individuals in the hall yelling and fighting . . . one girl was being drug down the hall towards me and she was naked from the waist up . . . I was unable to get off the floor as the fight was happening because they were fighting in front of the rooms just outside the elevators. I retreated back in my room and looked for the hotel phone in my room to call security but there was no phone in my room . . . I searched everywhere to include the desk . . . NO PHONE. (See photos) Then I tried to fine the phone number to the hotel on my cell to call the front desk but could not get an answer. I just waited and hoped that someone else on the floor would call. Finally, I heard the yelling stop, I peeked out my door, saw no one and ran down the hall to the elevator to get off the floor. As I got near the rooms where the fight was occurring, I could hear yelling inside the room. Once I got downstairs, I did not see anyone as the desk, so I left to meet my friend for dinner hoping that when I return things would be better. About an hour and a half later, I returned to the hotel and stopped at the front desk. Again, I was met with courtesy with the clerk as I explained what happened before I left and requested a new room on a different floor. They informed me that the kerfuffle was cleared up and those involved had been escorted off the premises . . . they obliged with no question and reassigned me from the 3rd floor to the 11th floor. I went to retrieve my suitcase from the 3rd floor and the smell of marijuana was WORSE and though they said the issue was cleared, there was still door slamming and loud yelling . . . I quick grabbed my things and rushed up to the 11th floor. The next morning, I checked out. Though there was a discrepancy in the check out time, (Priceline indicated 12noon, but the hotel said 11am) I was successful in checking out. As I was leaving my keys, they asked how was my stay . . . I told them of the incident the night before understanding that this was a morning crew and they may or may not know . . . they apologized for the 3am disturbance to which I replied 3am? No -- my incident happened at approximately 8pm . . . apparently this had continued and came to a head again at 3am to which they said the police were called. The female clerk was very apologetic, but the manager seemed to careless. He saw that my reservation was third party and from that point as I was talking, he was looking out the window and ignoring me . . . he offered no apology or no incentive for a future stay etc . . . I was so shocked as I have never had this from a HILTON????? Needless to say, I will NEVER stay there again . . . NEVER.

Peace and Relaxation
We stayed for a weekend for our annual wrestling convention. Fantastic time as always! Food was great. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and available to answer all questions any time. Convention space was top notch, as always. This is an annual convention for the hotel, and I do wish they had been able to keep the ATM running, but otherwise everything was perfect, as always! The lake out back is such a beautiful and relaxing setting. It's definitely our family's favorite place to stay, and we will be back next year! Thank you Hilton Charlotte for everything!

Stay somewhere else
95% of the time I write only positive reviews. The only time I write a bad review is when it is really bad. The hotel is so bad it almost became funny. The area around the hotel is not very nice (not the hotels fault but worth mentioning) The hotel had a homeless guy in front that is desperately in need of a few dollars. The toilet will not flush with anything in it. It took almost all day to get someone to simply plunge it. You WILL NOT get anyone on the phone at the front desk. You need to expect to go to the front desk if needed like its 1895. The VIP lounge (or whatever it is called) is a joke. the couple of drinks in the fridge are warm. The food is microwaved Sam's meatballs and some celery sticks. Can't tell you about the room service because no one will answer the phone. I think someone screwed up and answered one time but immediately hung up. That was exciting but disappointing in the end. I will admit the room was decent when it comes to cleanliness but the positive stops there. We tried to switch rooms at one point due to the defective toilet but the other room the AC was not working. From what I have read on other reviews we were very fortunate to have a decent AC unit so I stayed put. Anyway, I travel a lot and I know what a decent hotel is and what good service is and this ain't it. Not terrible but not up to Hiltons normal performance. I might would have gone up to average if anyone would have answered the phone at any time we were there.
