Good visit - always a good stay here on business - great staff!
Good stay, clean rooms, friendly staff! Stay here on business - very central and close to good places to eat and explore. Close to 1 Vanderbilt, grand central terminal, and a 15 -20 walk to Times Square and other attractions. Free breakfast and great staff.

Fantastic base
Perfect location ( 5 mins from Grand Central Station / 15 min from Times Square). Great buffet breakfast, unlimited coffee throughout the day and really friendly staff. Rooms are not massive, but you aren’t going to New York to sit in your room all day!!!!

Overall good stay, nice hotel, but one bad staff member.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn Grand Central in Manhattan earlier this month. The hotel is centrally located and well priced. The rooms are quite small, but this is very normal for rooms in Midtown, and met our expectations. The maids that cleaned our room were exceptional, very friendly and accommodating. The staff at the front desk were also great and pleasant to work with. My wife however had a few negative interactions with a one individual at the front desk, whose name is Michael Hermelee based on the tag he was wearing. Michael made multiple inappropriate / unprofessional comments about my wife's physical appearance, calling her "beautiful and gorgeous," awkwardly staring at her, and o obviously attempted to pick up on her. He asked multiple times if she had any social media accounts that he could add her on. Michael claimed he was some form of celebrity online under the name "Mikey Miles." We looked at his Instagram and Facebook accounts, and the information and images he shares about himself publicly are highly unprofessional and frankly quite disturbing. My wife is not confrontational, but ended up telling Michael bluntly to stop speaking to her, that he was acting like a creep towards a married woman, and that she would escalate this issue to management if he continued. He accommodated her request, yet had the gall to wink at her later that week towards the end of our trip. My wife didn't tell me about any of this until we returned home, as she didn't want me to cause a scene confronting Michael. After some time and more thought, this negative experience with Michael continues to bother her, and we have decided to make this information available to both the public and Hampton Inn management.

Unexpected Visit after being stranded in NYC
After a trip to Miami for a cruise, I unexpectedly found myself in New York City trying to get home. During the IT outage back in July, after some delayed and last minute cancelled flights with Delta. I found myself trying to find a place to sleep in NYC. This HAMPTON INN came through in a clutch. My check in started at 2:00am, where I actually forgot to check-in in the app when I booked a room a few hours earlier. I was nervous as I walked through the front sliding doors as I was certain they had given my reservation away. However, they still held it for me and I was able to get checked into room 2008, with the help of the very friendly overnight front desk guy. Was given two bottles of water which was very needed. It was a little after 2:00 in the morning, and after standing in a near 4 hour line with Delta customer service, I was ready to plop down on the bed and SLEEP. Their key card system was down, so I was not issued a key but the front desk guy walked me up to the room and let me in. The room and bed was clean. The bed was extremely comfy. I'm assuming this is an older building as I could hear water moving through the pipes in the wall and toilets flushing in other rooms. I'm a heavy sleeper, so things like this do not keep me awake, but for those light sleepers, this maybe an issue. Where this particular room is located, the room doors to other rooms are very close together, so when other guests are going in and out of their rooms, it sounds like someone is trying to come through your own room door, which was unsettling at first. The next morning (or in my case a few hours later) I woke up and went down for the breakfast. Very basic breakfast, but had a few hot options. The key system was still down, so one of the front desk morning staff let me back up to my room. I did not have a chance to use the shower as all of my toiletries were in my checked bag which was still sitting at the Miami airport (and still had to make it's way through Atlanta to Virginia), so I cannot comment on water pressure/temperature, etc. Overall, I would stay here again in a pinch.

Great stay at the Hampton Inn
We made a group booking at the Hampton Inn Manhattan Grand Central for a meeting. A huge thanks to the sales manager and the whole teams for their availability and flexibility. The guests were very happy about the reception staff, cleanliness of the hotel and its location. We look forward to booking this hotel again for future meetings
