Convenient, clean, friendly staff!
Friendly and efficient front desk personnel, conveniently located to Grand Central Station, breakfast daily is okay (it serves its purpose). Rooms are clean, air conditioning excellent. If you want a no frills, convenient, friendly, clean place, this one was good!

Great Home Base
I was able to snag a great rate for Hotel Week. The hotel is a very short walk from GCT and is a fantastic home base for traveling throughout Manhattan. The front desk was super kind and helpful, check-in was a breeze, and the room, albeit small, had everything we needed. The only negatives I can think of are that the walls are pretty thin, so we could hear our neighbors talking/laughing fairly late into the night, and the breakfast got very crowded. But all in all, especially for the price I paid, this hotel was perfect.

Good visit - always a good stay here on business - great staff!
Good stay, clean rooms, friendly staff! Stay here on business - very central and close to good places to eat and explore. Close to 1 Vanderbilt, grand central terminal, and a 15 -20 walk to Times Square and other attractions. Free breakfast and great staff.

Fantastic base
Perfect location ( 5 mins from Grand Central Station / 15 min from Times Square). Great buffet breakfast, unlimited coffee throughout the day and really friendly staff. Rooms are not massive, but you aren’t going to New York to sit in your room all day!!!!

Overall good stay, nice hotel, but one bad staff member.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn Grand Central in Manhattan earlier this month. The hotel is centrally located and well priced. The rooms are quite small, but this is very normal for rooms in Midtown, and met our expectations. The maids that cleaned our room were exceptional, very friendly and accommodating. The staff at the front desk were also great and pleasant to work with. My wife however had a few negative interactions with a one individual at the front desk, whose name is Michael Hermelee based on the tag he was wearing. Michael made multiple inappropriate / unprofessional comments about my wife's physical appearance, calling her "beautiful and gorgeous," awkwardly staring at her, and o obviously attempted to pick up on her. He asked multiple times if she had any social media accounts that he could add her on. Michael claimed he was some form of celebrity online under the name "Mikey Miles." We looked at his Instagram and Facebook accounts, and the information and images he shares about himself publicly are highly unprofessional and frankly quite disturbing. My wife is not confrontational, but ended up telling Michael bluntly to stop speaking to her, that he was acting like a creep towards a married woman, and that she would escalate this issue to management if he continued. He accommodated her request, yet had the gall to wink at her later that week towards the end of our trip. My wife didn't tell me about any of this until we returned home, as she didn't want me to cause a scene confronting Michael. After some time and more thought, this negative experience with Michael continues to bother her, and we have decided to make this information available to both the public and Hampton Inn management.
