Housekeeping and Valet are the stars!
The valet (I’m sorry I can’t recall his name—we arrived Saturday, late afternoon) was welcoming and helpful and it was a great beginning to a happy stay. I must mention housekeeping—they work so hard and get so little credit. Thank you Nellie—our rooms were spotless. You were responsive and non-judgemental when I broke a glass. You were gracious and helpful. Thank you! The women in the coffee shop were so professional and pleasant—thank you Mayra and Maui! Grand Summit give these women the recognition they deserve—$$$$.

Mountain Paradise in the Summer !
I’ve been here countless times in the winter time for the greatest snow on earth. This resort is my favorite of any mountain resort as the lift is literally steps from the hotel. (the lift is kind of a private Lift, called the orange bubble Xpress, closes a “bubble” over you to keep the wind off, and the seats are heated!). This recent visit was in the summer, however, and it was amazing to be able to hike up and down and around the mountain, crossing the ski trails, which are now full of verdant, green and wild flowers. The tombstone trail is amazing where you can hike to the top of the 9990 Mountain (that’s 9999 feet tall!). Much of the trail near the middle has a mountain stream with pine trees and birch trees and sage, offering not only beautiful vistas, but sounds and smells of nature like nowhere else I’ve ever been! We definitely need to come back because they are setting up for a crazy Fourth of July festival with fireworks and activities and music. They’re also putting up a summer concert stage with great bands, and events! We will come for the winter of course but several summer trips are required too!

Fabulous
It is off season at the moment, and that made it the perfect to live in luxury at an affordable price. Our suite was beautiful and roomy. There was a large dining area, and the kitchen was top notch. There was easy access to indoor parking. We would definitely stat there again. The whole location and surroundings is beautiful.

Nice Property Bad Management
On Tuesday morning, June 4th the entire hotel had no hot water. Then I heard on Monday night, the boiler went out. Hotel management made no attempt to notify the guest and make other arrangements. Any other luxury resort would have done this. What was infuriating was when I asked if the charge for the night would be adjusted, I was told they could credit back the $3.63 for the bottle of water i requested upon check-in. Hilton Garden and Hyatt Place give two bottles of complementary water and they are considered lower tier properties.

Dated property and area
This is like a Disney resort, good for families but not luxe or modern/stylish. All amenities including pool hot tubs dining need to be upgraded. The rooms have a great layout but again seem dated. The place to stay in this general area would be the Waldorf. This whole area of Canyons while lots of bars is dated with no buzz or vibe. Skiing was not good either as Canyons very wind prone.
