5th Time a charm
This was our 5th time at the Grand Palladium vallarta resort and it continues to be one of our favorite resorts we return to. We ate at all of the al a carte restaurants and the buffet for breakfasts and lunches, there was more food choices this time in the buffet which was nice. Leticia the head supervisor at the Portofino restauarant was amazing, making our meal special. There was a few days that the adult pool was very mirky and cloudy and didn't seem to be cleaned but then the water cleared and it was how we remembered it. It would be nice if they had more small side tables and chairs to sit on at the adult pool. There use to be more and the last few days the chairs all disappeared. The staff are all very friendly, so many to name, but the ones that really stood out for us are, Armondo, Vicky and Oscar during the day and in the evening Bernardo and Luis kept us well hydrated at the adult pool. Julio made us great drinks in the Hemmingway bar, great place to go if you want premium drinks. Thanks Juan Carlos the evening bar supervisor, he is a great person to get to know and make our holiday special. We hope to be able to come back to make more memories in the future.

Best place to relax right off the ocean
Loved the room with ocean view and the free massage at Zentopia! Highly recommend!! Price and quality are excellent. Staff friendly and attentive. Food and beverages are outstanding. Loved adult pool off the ocean. Lovely stay can’t wait to return next year!!

Disappointing
Food quality was below average. Never had good fish. Many times food was not hot. Queso at Mexican restaurant was a clump of shredded cheese (not even melted or able to dip a chip into) surrounded by green sauce. Pool chairs always full. Bathroom too far away, room stunk like mildew. Restaurant reservation process frustrating and full. Could not reserve for more than 2 people… with a family of 4 in 2 separate rooms this was a nightmare.

Family time!
Had a great time with family and staff was friendly and so hard working. Really had fun at the 4pm cooking classes and the exercise classes were also a lot of fun.

Cons outweigh the Pros unfortunately
March 2025 We’ve been to quite a few all inclusive resorts and can say this one was our least favourite. We enjoyed the week and made the best of everything but wouldn’t return here. Cons: -Booked a king room and were given 2 beds, said they couldn’t accommodate us and just pushed the beds together - AC does not work well, rooms are cool but not cold when you enter - infinity pool was filthy, couldn’t see the stairs most days and the salt water pool they list as their 5th was not full once during our week here - Reservations for restaurants are very difficult unless you’re on the app at midnight each night. - Tons of stairs and hills/ if you have any sort of mobility issues this is not a resort for you - Pool staff was very rude, each morning telling us we couldn’t leave our towels unattended for more than 30 mins and that we couldn’t use a Bluetooth speaker. I’ve never been told this in my life at a resort. - Very limited snack options- you have to walk to the buffet, only one restaurant offers hot dogs/hamburgers during lunch. Coffee stations were broken most days and again only located in lobby of buffet area. - no fancy plastic glasses given or glass options, always plastic cups. Limited drink options at the pool bars- no menu and didn’t know how to make many drinks - Swim up bar said 10am on app and never opened before 11:30 each day. - guest services not helpful. Asked about decorating my mom’s room for her bday and they said there was a cost, which was fine, but they couldn’t find the cost so after wasting 20 mins sitting there we said never mind. Pros- Staff is friendly, jungle theme is beautiful, grounds are well kept. Food was decent, beach was clean and water was nice to swim in. Entertainment was good, Bingo and Earth Hour party was fun. My cons may seem minimal to some but after traveling around to a variety of resorts you get used to certain things. I stayed at the Grand Palladium in Jamaica and had a totally different experience years ago. There are better options in PV in my opinion.
