Disappointing experience after other positive visits
I will make it short. After a number of trips to TRS in Playa Majures which was amazing, we decided to go to Punta Cana, and had to book a stay in the Palladium Palace as we had 3 adults in the room (since TRS only allows 2). Booked through the Travel Club. Rooms The 1st 2 rooms (lofs) were terrible - no AC, old furniture, and mold smell in the room. Most controls were broken or didn't work. We wanted ocean front, so paid a premium. Travel club was somewhat helpful to move, but they should have checked abourt the issues in the rooms before putting s in the 1st and moving us to the 2nd. Then Travel Club moved us to the Punta Cana side to a supposedly "much nicer and better room". Yes, it was more modern, but no ocean view, it was in front of the restaurant and bathroom and on the ground floor. passers by every 10 second so no privacy at all - could not open shades or be on the porch. Also smell from the bathroom was as expected. Travel Club asked if we want to move to a 4th room - obviously we refused ... that was just too much. You would think they would offer us the sky and the moon for these crazy issues, but of course not. Food: The buffets are terrible. Most hot food is bland and tasteless, and cold food is there for a while, people touch them with hands and dont use utensils. The only decent one is the TRS Breakfast Buffet which was good. Lunch - if not for us using the TRS side restaurants (which were OK - nothing great), we would likely skip lunches, as the places that served them were not good. Dinners - don't expect anything great. TRS restaurants were decent, but the others are average and some poor. Shows - they were good, and the white party was the best part. After Shows - nothing really there. There is the bar with a DJ only playing Latin music. It god for 15 minutes, but then its done. No other options. Beach - that was the best part. Great sand, clean and the water was perfect temperature. You need to wake up early to reserve any decent spot. Pools - all good, but nothing much happens there. TRS pool (adults only) was the best one. Overall - I would not come to this result until they complete their renovations (planned to start in a month, I believe), and then only to the TRS side

Holiday from hell.
Terrible hotel! Bitten by bed bugs, cockroaches running around the room, damp, sockets not working, had no hot water for 3 days, shower which was in the bath sprayed all over the floor, paint and plaster falling of the walls in the room, when it rained we had to put towels down by the door so we were swimming in water from the bathroom and the front door. Lights were hanging of the walls. In the main walk ways outside there was bare wires where lights should have been, this was most of the lights. The food was sometimes warm most of the time cold. My partner bought a lighter and paid $10 to the barman, who asked our room number then on checking out we were asked to pay for this again as it hadnt been paid for, we were accused of theiving by the manager so we argued our case .....oh it was a member of staff that had decided to pocket the money and try and get us to pay again.....erm no! No apology either. $10 for a pack of pointless....so take lots of money if you fancy anything in your room. It cost me $62 for extra bite creams and sprays ...very expensive. Only good thing about this hotel was the rep ROODLY, to good for that hotel. Most of the staff were so miserable and rude, but there's no wonder working there!

It’s a grand time at the Grand Palladium
If you’ve been reading negative reviews and second guessing your life choices don’t. We are a family of four and arrived New Years Eve and have had the best time! The staff here is attentive and lovely; always happy to help, bring you a drink or a snack. The food at the buffets and restaurants has been fresh and plentiful. The grounds are stunning. The beach is wavy, fun and beautiful. The gym, spa and sports area is a dream! It’s really like three resorts in one—how incredible! Yes, our room was a bit dated but we were never there—only to sleep. The lines for the buffets are long but move quickly. The casino and Hemingway for a drink and dancing is so fun! We honestly have nothing negative to say. It has been pure bliss!

Disappointed
The hotel is dated and in need of some TLC. The staff are very rude and unhelpful. Food, is barely room temperature and the speciality restaurants are a joke. The steak place didn't give us a starter as it was too late into the evening!! (We waited 1 1/2 hours for the table) we left the argentine restaurant after waiting and waiting and.... waiting!! The buffets only offer limited or even no utensils to serve food with so lots of cross contamination. The public toilets are all broken so don't flush.

Hotel was ok
I would not consider this Hotel a 4.5/5 resort. Certain areas needed a facelift. The hotel room had water stains on the roof in the bathroom.
