    Scottsdale dining experience

We had dinner at Lazozzano located in the Grand Hyatt Scottsdale. The food was excellent and service was a ten. We specifically planned our trip to the Grand Hyatt when we learned that Chef Richard Blais curated the menus. We have visited many of Chef Blais' establishments and we were very happy with this lovely place.

Nice atmosphere and service, but low sound privacy

Very nice atmosphere, friendly service in all areas. Gym was great. Rooms comfortable. Good location for other things in the area. Restaurant prices unjustifiably high for the “good-but-not-great” quality of the food. However, main downside was the poor privacy. For example, I have some hearing loss and yet we heard clearly the urination of the man in the room on one side of us, and both parties of a phone conversation (and it wasn’t on speakerphone) on the other side. In addition, noise from guests in the loading/valet area was unacceptable.

The New Grand Hyatt- sophisticated and fun

I have stayed at the Grand Hyatt for more than 2 weeks for business. The new renovations are fantastic. I am also happy to say that the staff, particularly the valet team and the bartenders are first class. The valet team led by Chris and with Cody, Josh and Jake, do an outstanding job. Perfect first impression every time. The bartenders are also equally superb. Andrew, Stephen and Louie are highly skilled and on top of their game. Great experience all around. 5 stars!

    My favorite hotel

This was my first time visiting Scottsdale, and I have to say, I was a little apprehensive about checking in after reading all the reviews about the construction. However, as soon as we arrived, all my worries melted away. The driveway leading up to the hotel was absolutely stunning, with big open doors welcoming us into the lobby. Right from the start, we were greeted with a refreshing cocktail, which set the tone for a wonderful stay. The property is cozy and charming, with only four levels, making it feel intimate and inviting. Our balcony offered a partial view of the mountains, and we loved relaxing there while taking in the beautiful surroundings. Throughout our stay, we noticed the cozy fire pits on the first-floor rooms, which added a perfect touch of ambiance in the evenings. The rooms were modern and spacious, providing a comfortable retreat after our daily adventures. On our first day, we dined at Mesa Centrale, where we sat on the patio next to a crackling fire pit. I ordered a turkey sandwich that was simply amazing! However, I have to mention the apple pie—definitely steer clear of that. For $10, I expected a delicious dessert, but it was undercooked, with pale dough and raw apples. Luckily, my taste buds were saved by the delightful experience at La Zozzona the next night. The modern decor and friendly service made for a fantastic evening, and I highly recommend stopping by for drinks or dinner. The pool area was a highlight for us, especially the adult pool with attentive wait staff ready to take our orders. Even though we didn’t have kids, we were impressed by the children’s pools we passed by. We also made great use of the free tennis and pickleball courts, which came fully equipped. But the star of our stay was undoubtedly the spa. We spent an entire day pampering ourselves from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it was nothing short of heavenly. Tami, the concierge at the hotel, was incredibly helpful in planning our activities, even though I wish I had met her in person. David at the front desk at hotel was always there with a friendly smile, ready to assist us with anything we needed, and Paul at La Zozzona added an extra touch of charm to our evening with his delightful conversation. Overall, the warmth and hospitality of the staff made our visit truly memorable, and I can’t wait to recommend this wonderful place to others!

    Great Pet-friendly hotel

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt for the first time for a few days around New Years. The whole resort had been updated and although they are finishing up a few details we thought it was beautiful and clean. There are numerous courtyards perfect for dog walking or for kids to play. Even with a NYE party in the lobby bar we heard no noise. This property also seems like a beautiful place to hold an event or wedding. There are so many pretty outdoor spaces. We had drinks and appetizers at the pool and the bar. Prices for food are fairly high/typical for a nice resort though. Housekeeping was great and always came right away when we called to say we’d be out of the room. The only things I did not like about the room was the lack of drawers. There is not enough space for 2 adults and 2 kids to unpack. There are only 2 drawers in the room and then 2 small drawers in the closet. Also the floor has automatic lights. Nice if you get up to use the restroom at night. Not great if you have dogs that walk around at night. The location is great and we took a nice morning walk down to a local coffee shop. We hope to come back this summer when we can properly enjoy the pool.
