A step above the typical Embassy Suites
Yes you pay the premium, but you feel the extra value vs. the standard Embassy Suites experience. The room was a little more comfortable, not just large, but useful. The beds were a little nicer, pillows included. The eating space is a little more comfortable beyond just functional. The location is, being on the Riverwalk, fantastic. It's literally steps from everything we wanted to do downtown. The valet is very efficient, and totally necessary with the congested parking situation. The one kind of surprising omission is the evening bar. The happy hour is very well attended but they shut that bar down afterward, I guess in favor of the bar in the steakhouse ... all is not lost through ... there's a very well appointed grocery/bodega just across the street ... with a nice wine selection, candy for the kids ... just not in house.

Nice hotel in San Antonio Riverwalk, close to Riverwalk
We have stayed at many Embassy Suites over the years. We were very pleased with the San Antonio riverwalk hotel. The rooms were very nice, although I will say the bathroom door and the bathroom vanity have seen better days. They were scratched up and the door needed paint touchups. Overall, the room was good. The breakfast was very good and the lobby was being renovated and it looked very nice. Staff was very helpful. The location in proximity to the riverwalk was excellent. We walked to The Alamo as well. Great area.

Amazing experience!
What a wonderful experience! Our organization held a meeting in San Antonio at the Embassy Suites near the River Walk. While the hotel is upgrading its lobby, don’t let that discourage you from staying at this beautiful property. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, but what truly sets this hotel apart is its outstanding staff—especially the team at the restaurant. The breakfast was the best I’ve had at a hotel of this kind, and the omelet station chef was exceptional. The service from everyone was top-notch. The hotel is within walking distance of the Alamo and the incredible restaurants along the River Walk. I highly recommend staying here!

How to lose a Diamond Member customer
Hilton Diamond member. The embassy suites riverwalk staff are easily the most unwelcoming and unhelpful people we’ve found at any Hilton, ever. In addition to elevators not working, filthy lobby, noisy construction, cold eggs at breakfast, we were overcharged for our upgrade and top it all off denied a late checkout. All done with an attitude. This is how loyal, 20 year, customers are lost. The good news is that it’s really easy to switch to Marriott, IHG and others. Will never stay here again.
