    LOUD hotel next to freeway.

LOUD room. Room felt like it was sitting between five lanes of freeway traffic. Didn’t get any sleep. Sounds like the window is open, but it is not. Even at 4 AM there is continual really loud traffic. Hotel is fine otherwise but when sleep is important, be warned not to stay here.

    Terrible experience. Beware.

One of the worst hotel experiences ever. I brought my family for a child’s birthday celebration and confirmed in advance that they had a heated indoor pool that was fully functioning. It was NOT. It’s roped off with crime scene tape. Next, they have one whole restaurant with a very limited menu and high prices. Food was cold and unappetizing. No bottled water in this over $400 per night room. Called the front desk and no one answered. They said they had a complimentary cocktail hour from 5:30 to 7:00 but when I went downstairs to where they directed me, the drinks were charged at premium prices. We were quoted $25 for parking but it was actually $38 per car and we had two. The management was unresponsive and acted like it was no big deal. Unreal. I could’ve stayed anywhere in this city. What an unbelievably negative experience. We will never come back. Travelers beware.

    Never Again

Stayed in room 610 and the mattress was completely broken down on one side. We had a non refundable reservation from 12/24 - 12/26/24. I got virtually no sleep that night. In the morning we told the front desk and they did offer to move us to another room. We had so much stuff with us because of Christmas, were already complete unpacked, and were so exhausted, we just decided to go home early and eat the cost of the second night rather than move all of our stuff. No offer of a discount or refund of the cost of the room that sat empty and paid for. We have stayed at this hotel many times when we’re in Sacramento. It is not the same nice hotel that it used to be. There is no excuse for the condition of the mattress in that room. We recently stayed at the Kimpton Sawyer hotel and everything was excellent. We will choose them from now on.

Excellent location for many downtown points of interest.

Nice Embassy Suites in a key downtown location...close to many important sites. A real "old fashioned" Embassy Suites...not slimmed down features like many post Covid. Looks remodeled since our last visit about 6 years ago. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms in good condition, except for the doors into the bathroom that open the wrong way. The only negative was the safe was closed, and both phones in the room didn't work. But those were fixed very quickly by a very helpful and pleasant staffer.

Choose your room carefully if the river view is important.

We had a riverfront suite, which I paid extra for. However, considering the location right on the river, I would think the architect would have designed the river facing side to maximize the view. Not this room. it was sunk back in the facade, with walls sticking out on both sides, No such thing as looking up and/or down the river. I was Diamond when we went. No perks. Breakfast and an evening wine reception were included, but they were for anyone who stayed at the hotel. It's one of the reasons I no longer pursue Hilton Diamond status. Overall. the room was comfy in spite of the restricted view, and the staff were friendly. Walking distance to Old Sacramento and the Tower Bridge.
