Excellent location for many downtown points of interest.
Nice Embassy Suites in a key downtown location...close to many important sites. A real "old fashioned" Embassy Suites...not slimmed down features like many post Covid. Looks remodeled since our last visit about 6 years ago. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Rooms in good condition, except for the doors into the bathroom that open the wrong way. The only negative was the safe was closed, and both phones in the room didn't work. But those were fixed very quickly by a very helpful and pleasant staffer.

Choose your room carefully if the river view is important.
We had a riverfront suite, which I paid extra for. However, considering the location right on the river, I would think the architect would have designed the river facing side to maximize the view. Not this room. it was sunk back in the facade, with walls sticking out on both sides, No such thing as looking up and/or down the river. I was Diamond when we went. No perks. Breakfast and an evening wine reception were included, but they were for anyone who stayed at the hotel. It's one of the reasons I no longer pursue Hilton Diamond status. Overall. the room was comfy in spite of the restricted view, and the staff were friendly. Walking distance to Old Sacramento and the Tower Bridge.

Sacramento gold
We stayed here the last night of a two-week trip. We decided to stay in the city rather than out by the airport, and we were so glad we did! The location next to the Tower Bridge, down the road from the state capital building, and steps from Old Sacramento was ideal. We had an awesome view of the bridge in particular- and it was still only 15 minutes from the airport. Great breakfast included, very friendly staff. Zach, who checked us in, was exceptionally helpful and got us a great upgrade on our room!

Dirty rooms!
We arrived late to check in and the man at the front counter was rude like he didn't want to be there at his job. When we went to our room the couches were stained and filthy. The sink in the restroom has hairs in it like the house keepers didn't clean it. The tub was dirty and the walls of the shower still had soap or shampoo on them. I could tell they weren't cleaned. Then we go into the room-WOW! The carpet in there was BLACK with stains. The towels in the bathroom also had black stains. The towels in the bathroom were also hard to the touch. No soft at all. I paid an arm and a leg for ONE NIGHT, I would expect the Embassy "Suites" to be more clean than this!!! Embassy Suites does not live up to it's name!!! Also, when we were leaving a house keeper hard her cart in the middle of hall as we exited our room and I asked her politely if she can move it aside so I can go by and she only moved it a little bit and looked at me like "there!" I had to squeeze my suite case by cause she didn't give me much room. Come on Embassy Suites, do better!!!

Very nice hotel next to old town
Very modern room with 2 new TV’s, a river view, bar fridge, microwave, sofa bed and new bathroom. It’s a very well designed hotel with a huge interior courtyard. The pool, spa and gym are adequate as is the complimentary breakfast. Free drinks and nibbles from 5.30 - 7pm every day is also a nice touch.
