Great unique pictures! Thanks to great staff!

The staff was very attentive and helpful! When I wanted to get a particular photo of the bell they ring for a whale sighting, Joel and Yamile (pool concierge) went out of their way to help me get permission from the head gardener to climb into a restricted area. They texted me his permission so I had something to show the security guard. Got great pictures thanks to their willingness to persist and figure out how to best help me!

    Fantastic Teams and Facility

We, two adults and two kids, had an amazing time at Dreams Vallarta Bay. Immediately at check-in we were welcomed to the resort. Check-in was easy and within 5 minutes we were on our way to our room. The room was clean and spacious. Our room was cleaned and replenished by 10am every day while we went to buffet breakfast in Carnival. Team: We can’t say enough about the Dreams teams – from check-in to Activity team, to Entertainment team to Food Service teams were amazing – every interaction was genuine and they were most interested in ensuring our needs were met. Each team member was attentive (remembering our names even a day or two after) and they seemed to be having as much fun as we were having. Pools: The pools were refreshing and the Activity team ensured there were lots of things to do – Bingo by the pool, aqua aerobics in the pool, ping pong, water volleyball, beach volleyball, Hobie cat tours, kayak tours etc. were all well run and we enjoyed it all. Food: - Carnival breakfast had lots of options and was always being checked to replenish low supplies. - Himitsu was our favorite. Teppanyaki tables were entertaining and food was good. We also had regular table service and food was equally as good. - Barefoot Grill – standard burgers, hot dogs, pizza and nachos by the pool – ate lunch here the 1st 3 days and food was good and served quickly. - Pool Taco stand – the el pastor pork taco stand was amazing – we didn’t try it until day 3 of 7 and then had it for the remaining days – it was a highlight of the trip. - Coco Café – coffee, churro’s and cakes were a definite highlight of the trip - Castaways and Tamarindo – ate once at each location and both were good Nightly entertainment – the amphi-theatre was great – various different entertainment options over the week – live cultural shows were amazing. Other nights were movie nights on a projector with popcorn and drinks. There were several weddings via Secrets when we were there but the music was done by 10pm and was quiet after this time. The music added to the atmosphere and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony, listening to the music and watching boats traversing the bay in the dark. The beach is rocky at Dreams/Secrets (pebble size up to baseball size) where the waves break – we waded in the ocean here but to go swimming with our kids we walked 2 resorts to the north where there are no rocks and swam there. UVC – if you are not interested in attending the UVC sales meeting then be sure to decline the offer of ‘free spa passes’ after check-in when you walk through the lobby. We can’t say anything negative about the resort as we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The resort was busy, but it is big enough with enough varied options that it never felt busy and we never lacked any access or service. Thank you to the Dreams team for making this a memorable holiday for our family!!

Far Beyond Expectations: A Stay of Luxury, Service, and Style

This property far exceeded our expectations. The service, accomodations and options were exceptional!!! Loved the all inclusive food and beverage rate which encouraged us to enjoy every one of the amenities there. The spa was phenomenal! The hydro therapy was unlike any I have experienced before and highly recommend it...including the cold plunge! My masseuse was very professional and her work left my body feeling refreshed and renewed. Highly recommend treating yourself to one of their services. Our daughter choose this property for her wedding and it was everything and more than we expected. The staff goes beyond to make you relaxed, happy and comfortable. If they had a permanent residency option, we might never have come home. Highly recommend for a vacation or a destination for a special moment or occasion.

A Nightmare Experience from Start to Finish

A Nightmare Experience from Start to Finish I arrived at Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa on Monday, February 17, and from the moment I stepped on the property, nothing went right. Prior to arrival, I called to request a crib and to ensure I would be close to my parents (who had booked separately). Not once was I informed that my parents were part of the preferred club and that my reservation was in a separate section of the hotel. At check-in, I was told they could switch our reservations to be next to each other—only to find out later that there was an additional fee. I was willing to pay, but I should have been informed upfront before going through the hassle of switching. After paying the fee, the front desk assured me that my room would be ready in just three minutes and directed me to check in at the preferred club. Unfortunately, my experience at the preferred club was even more frustrating. I was ignored for 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. When I finally got someone’s attention, I was informed that I’d have a butler to help plan activities and reservations, but then I was told it would take another 30 minutes to meet them. I went for lunch and returned an hour later, only to be told that my room still wasn’t ready and that I’d need to wait another 45 minutes. By the time I reached my room around 4:40 PM, there was still no crib for my daughter—she was exhausted from our long day of travel. After another 30 minutes and a re-request for the crib, I finally met my butler, Naomi, who turned out to be the worst part of the experience. She provided little guidance about the resort’s amenities (I didn’t learn about the app with a map until day two) and even when I asked for help with booking a table at the hibachi restaurant, she insisted that I go to the concierge instead. When I followed up the next day, she blamed me for not speaking with the concierge, despite it clearly being her role to assist. The nightmare didn’t end there. My biggest concern came on the last day when we were by the kids’ pool. We had secured chairs to watch our children play, only to be abruptly told by a lifeguard at 8:45 AM to leave, even though the pool had been open since 8 AM. No one provided an explanation, and after 25 minutes of being passed around between staff, a manager named Andrea finally mentioned that the water was unsafe and was being tested. An hour later, I learned from the concierges that someone had defecated in the pool. I was extremely concerned about my daughter’s exposure to contaminated water for nearly an hour. When I asked if I should take her to a doctor, the concierge casually replied that it was her rest day. After demanding to speak with a manager, I was told one would be with me in “3 minutes”—which turned into a 30-minute wait before Jairo Jimenez arrived with a dismissive “this stuff happens” attitude, even laughing when I asked if I should see a doctor. As if that wasn’t enough, I also sent my child to the Explorers Club, which was equally appalling. There was no one watching over my 3-year-old during her entire hour-long stay. Every time I checked on her, she was completely unsupervised. At one point, I saw her climbing onto a large trampoline that staff had clearly stated was only for children aged 5 and above. When I finally intervened, only one staff member came over, demonstrating a complete lack of attention and care. This level of negligence in supervising children is unacceptable and a stark departure from the standards of any other all-inclusive resort I’ve experienced. For a family-friendly resort, Dreams Vallarta Bay Resort & Spa failed miserably on every level—from check-in and room readiness to butler service, pool safety, and child supervision. I strongly advise families to reconsider before booking a stay here, as the safety and well-being of your loved ones are clearly not a priority.
