The Grammy for the Worst Vacation Ever Goes to.!!!
There are three hotels: Dreams, Sunscape Sabor, and Secrets. The hotels are located on a property with beautiful beaches. The staff is very friendly, and the property offers the freedom to connect with all three hotels if you're traveling as a couple, as one of them (Secrets) doesn't allow minors. My reservation was for Sunscape, but without any explanation, I ended up at Dreams. I had planned to have beachfront access from my room, and not, as in this case, where I ended up on the fourth floor with ocean views and a completely different room than my reservation. The food was terrible, cold, flavorless, and full of flies. The buffet has no variety, and the dining areas vary by hotel. The restaurants that offer a la carte food are the worst I've ever been to. They fill your eyes with the name of the dish, but when they serve the food, it's a complete lie. The desserts are a bit lacking in flavor. What they serve is a pure sample of sweets, and only one place in the entire complex offers a sample cup of ice cream. The drinks are terrible; the cocktails and wines are limited and come with an extra charge. Taxi fares are US$20 per person from the airport and US$10 per person to Downtown each way. In short, I wouldn't wish my experience on anyone, and my greatest joy was the day I returned home.

Wonderful stay at Dreams
Had a fantastic stay at Dreams. Everything was wonderful. Service members were all lovely and friendly. Al La Carte restaurants were incredible. Never had to make reservations or wait for a table. No need for a towel card, use as many as you need and return them at your convenience. Lots of fresh towels daily. Just a very chill resort, just the way we like it. Shout out to some of the staff.....Rosana, Kenia, Mario, Gaspar, Elizabeth, Albertos and Ricardo. Would definitely go back!!

Good, but have been to better.
The resort itself was okay. The chair thing is real. Most chairs are taken by 6am but some not ever used. It was nice to have the three resorts to choose from for food/bars. Room service food was the best. The breakfast at Secrets Word Cafe was good (omelets and more choices then Market Cafe at Dreams). The beach is somewhat rocky when in the water and there was sea weed that was not cleaned up. The Spa service was very good. No shots offered at any of the three resorts - can't get mini-beers, etc. No champagne was offered when upgraded with UVC. I did get balloons, banner, wine, etc for my birthday. Lacking daily activities and night shows. I have had other resorts with much more entertainment. The Annanto and Pizza place were not as good as hyped up to be. A low key resort if you want to relax pool side and read. Staff were friendly. Jonathan Hernandez was amazing. He messaged me daily to see how we were and helped answer all of our questions.

Great Vacation - But Will We Be Back?
We've stayed at Dreams Cozumel in the past. It was a great vacation then. It was a great vacation this last time. The food was good. The staff were great. And with the Preferred Club, we could go right down the beach to visit Secrets and Sunscape - really great. Two things stood out that could use some attention: 1) I wish staff/personnel would have a system for removing towels from loungers that are not actually being used. There were way too many people reserving loungers that simply were not using them. I know this is a gripe for many resorts. But someone needs to step up and handle this. At one point there were only five people (my wife and I included) on the entire beach (from Sugar Reef bar to the north palapa), yet every lounger had towels on them for hours without being used. I watched, some hadn't been used throughout the entire day. The same happened at the pool. This is a problem. It's really annoying and makes for a bad experience. 2) I'm worried that maintenance is becoming an issue. We found a lot of broken tiles in our bathrooms, and the exterior stucco could use some work (bad cracks around the balconies and discolored paint work). Also, please either replace/repair or remove the in-water hammocks. They've become an eyesore with missing wood poles and blighted ropes hanging down. By the end of our week's stay, all the hammocks had either broken or were missing. We've been going to all-inclusive resorts for 25 years. We've been to Dreams, Secrets, Sunscape, and Zoetry, as well as many other brands (Riu, Sandals, Marival, Couples, Iberostar, too many to list). We've figured out that once maintenance starts to struggle, a resort quickly takes a dive in quality. I hope that doesn't happen here. Will we come back for a third time? Maybe. Cozumel is a fun island. It's an easy commute. The weather is nice and warm. The people have been friendly. I'll just be watching the reviews to see if the issues we found have been addressed. If not, there's always another alternative that's worth a try.

Keep looking elsewhere for now
This property is recently bought by Hyatt and not yet at the level of service expected from Hyatt in general. I feel like I've been subject of false advertisement. It should be offered as Hyatt property only once transition is complete, with all staff trained to level of standards, bridging communication gaps and providing basic amenities expected.
