Aruba building gives more transportation flexibility
It's not my favorite moderate Disney hotel, but it does have some important perks that led me to stay there. First, there's the skyliner. If you're spending a lot of time at Epcot and hollywood studios, there's no better and quicker transportation. If you stay in the Aruba or Jamaica buildings, you'll be closer to the skyliner station shared with the Riviera. I stayed in Aruba. It's so close to the Riviera, that I could easily use their luxury amenites like the coffee shop, rooftop bar, restaurant, etc. (Just not the pool) When using a Lyft, I liked using the Riviera's more comfortable lobby as a pickup. I highly recommend requesting a room in Aruba or Jamaica on the first floor. Note that there are no elevators, so if you have heavy bags or multiple bags, you may have trouble hauling them up the stairs! They also have a quiet pool by them if you don't care for the noisiness of the main pool that has kid-activties often directed by a cast member on a microphone. Water pressure was SO good! Quick service food at the main food court was abover average. I also ate at the pool bar and found it good. Important note if you have a late flight out: The main pool has showers so you can swim all day and shower off before your flight. Not every hotel has that, so I really appreciate it.

Skyliner makes this a good choice - no other reason to choose this resort.
Firstly the disappointments. We have been lucky enough to stay in a few Disney hotels and done a few Disney cruises and the service here was not to my expectations. The check in was particularly poor. The guy who served us made repeated comments about how awful it must be for my son to be the only man in a party of women which was at best inappropriate and came across as sexist. We had 2 rooms for our party and while I know they can’t guarantee anything they had allocated us in rooms several buildings apart from each other. When I complained about that he said he could move the others to our connecting room the next day and if they left their luggage packed up by thr door, they would move it. He gave us the wrong information about when the skyliner starts running and zero information about the facilities and activities at the resort. He didn’t ask if we needed any help with our bags despite having a second floor room. The next day the key card had switched to thr new room so the rest of our party couldn’t access the old room with their bags in, but the bags hadn’t been moved either. Cue an hour of faffing around while the bags were delivered. No apology. Contrast with the time on a Disney cruise when one of our bags was delivered 10 mins past the time they said we and we got an apology hamper. I do think it’s poor that for the cost of staying you don’t get housekeeping every day. This meant I had to remember to take rubbish out with us (like banana peels) so it wouldn’t make the room smell. We saw a cockroach in one of the rooms, though to be fair the woman on reception was very apologetic about that. The needed more staff on at breakfast as queues were long with everyone obviously wanting to use early park access. The good stuff The rooms are clean and comfortable, freshly painted and well maintained. The shower is amazing - powerful and hot. The skyliner is so convenient- a real game changer for getting around Disney. There’s lots of wildlife - we saw lots of rabbits, some turtles and a raccoon. We stayed in Jamaica 42 and found it handy for the skyliner and bus stop. About a 5-10 min walk from the central bit with food and the big pool.

Big resort, but very nice!
This hotel is BIG, but it is very nice. Love the tropical vibe here, and the small beach areas to hang out at throughout the resort. Our kids loved the pool and how it has 2 slides. The water always felt warm.. We stayed in Barbados, so we weren't far from the skyliner and being able to walk to get Joffreys was great. It is definitely worth staying here for the skyliner!!! So convenient. I felt like our room was outdated, but I think that was because we've stayed in the remodeled PORFQ rooms

Disappointing
The hotel is ok but is NO better than the Budget hotels like Pop Century or Art of Imagination so save your money if needed. The Art of Imagination is better in my opinion. One thing that we all complained about but reception didn’t help at all was how noisy the rooms are. We had an interconnecting room with someone we didn’t know and they were so noisy which would have been ok if the walls and door weren’t so thin. I go every year to Florida Disney and have noticed that the old Disney Customer Service quality which was Legendary is no more, Disney cast members aren’t the same these days I’m afraid. Just a job now and there not proud to wear the badge

Enjoyed staying at the Martinique.
Even though the resort is an older resort, we found it clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We stayed at the Martinique and felt like this was a great area. It was easy to get to where the busses pick you up to go to the parks, and it is close to the skyliner.
