    Thank you Gio

Gio was great. Very kind person & worried about our enjoyment. He offered us chairs, drinks, food and checked on us every time. We will.be coming back to the Diplomat because of him. My children also had great food and had fun thanks to the service of Gio.

Despite all else, Great customer service

The service at this hotel is outstanding. As an avid traveler I can say that the employees at the Diplomat, both inside and outside go above and beyond. At the front desk Sky and Breena have been amazing and at the beach, Gio and Maxwell have made our stay feel like a world class destination. They are both attentive and work their butts off in the hot sun to fulfill our needs.

Fanatics stay, can’t wait to come back!

This is a gorgeous property and every aspect of our stay felt perfectly luxurious and upscale. Absolutely every staff member we met was so nice and helpful, we felt a personal touch in every interaction. Most enjoyable was our chat with Melissa Harrison by the pool. It was so clear how much the team cares not only for their guests, but also for their staff. Thank you The Diplomat team for making our stay so enjoyable! We cannot wait to come back again!

    Very nice and beautiful hotel

Beautiful hotel, grounds and bar. They were really busy in the bar, and staff are really busy. The room was nice and clean and comfortable. The beach and pool area are gorgeous. It was a good stay. It definitely is the nicest place in this area.

One of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had at a Hilton property

After years of staying at the Hilton Beachfront Resort in Fort Lauderdale, we decided to give the Diplomat a shot and couldn't have had a more disappointing experience from start to finish. Like several commenters have said, we only found out that the property was under construction when we arrived - that information wasn't listed anywhere on their website. We were excited for our son to check out the splash park, but were informed at check-in that it was closed for renovations along with the infinity pool. This was in addition to the entire lobby being under construction. I had originally booked an intercoastal view, but was apparently "upgraded" to a 4th floor ocean view room which just looked out over the rooftop of the front of the hotel. I messaged the front desk to see if there was any possibility of switching rooms (since it was more of a downgrade), and they informed me that the only thing that was available was a corner suite on a higher floor for an extra $300/night. Obviously I declined. The more frustrating issue was that I actually ended up checking out early, and was charged for 3 days that I didn't even stay at the hotel. I could understand if there was some minor mixup, but I talked to the front desk 2 different times and confirmed AGAIN when I checked out that I wouldn't be charged for the last 3 days of my original reservation. On my last day, I handed the front desk my room keys, they printed me a receipt and I left (sounds like I checked out, right?). Imagine my surprise when I got an email 3 days later thanking me for my stay and charging my card for 6 full days instead of the 3 days I actually stayed. Despite MULTIPLE assurances that someone would call me at various stages of trying to resolve this - no one from the hotel has ever actually reached out. It finally took 2 separate calls to the Hilton Diamond line and then THEM calling the hotel directly with me on the line to actually be able to speak to someone. Once the Diamond Line got actually got ahold of someone, the hotel confirmed it was clearly a significant error on their part and promised they would issue a refund. Anyway, that was about a week ago and as of today, I still haven't received a refund.... The one bright spot was that the poolside casita's are really nice; and the staff at the pool, restaurants and shop were all outstanding . But its simply not enough to make up for just how disappointed I am with the entire overall experience.
