Will Never Return!
The place was filthy and unsafe. -Broken/missing light switches w/exposed wires light switches -Mold and dirt on lamp shades -Because of broken light switches, 3 vents did not turn off the entirety of our stay in bathroom areas. -Torn, stained carpet -Broken TV remote -Slow draining sink -Tub backed up while showering to standing water -Broken side entry door/No security -Pull out bed nothing but wires. ( I know they aren't great, but this was awful) -Smelly blankets -Path to beach overgrown -At times, unfriendly/unprofessional staff Incase hotel management responds with any of this being untrue, I do have photos of everything as proof.

Average stay
Upon check-in, the disastrous vacation started. Website stated heated pool and spa. I have kids, as do many travelers. This is a must, especially during this timeframe. Nope, pool out of order, spa out of order. Front desk staff you ask? Very unprofessional, uneducated with local attractions or really any info guests requested. Just getting started, paid for a 6 person room, actually booked it and only 3 towels present, needed extra pillows, toilet does not work, etc. To be fair, it’s an average 2 star hotel. My disappointment comes with the price, service, and false advertising amenities.

Sufficient room, poor staff & management
The location of this property is conveniently located on the main strip, right behind McDonald’s and not far from the causeway on/off the island. On the hotels website, they claim that the card you reserve the room with will be charged “one nights stay” in addition to the total charge of your stay, for incidentals. Upon checking in, however, we were charged an incidental fee that equaled the total stay amount, thus taking twice the amount of money from our bank account. What was even more disappointing was the lack of professionalism and care for the guest from the General Manager and others on staff. The GM tried to blame it on the bank, and didn’t take any responsibility for his property. It’s clear that this property feels confident in their ability to bring in new guests, thus not caring much for overall guest satisfaction. The room was decent, the bed was comfortable and the large tv had a clear picture and plenty of channels. The main complaint was in the bathroom, where there was a lot of dust and other particles sitting on top of the towel rack, and inside where the towels were placed. Overall, the property is average, but management cares little about guest satisfaction.

Fiasco
I went on Thanksgiving and my birthday was on the 25th. I'm disabled but not enough to travel with my service dog according to the day manager at the hotel. I suffer from aphasia and word finding difficulty after my stroke 10 years ago. There are more things to my diagnosis but that's all I'm willing to share. The manager said he'd have to see papers for my dog which there are none or I'd have to pay $30, then said he'd charge me a reduced rate of $15, then got angry and said he had a service dog and he carried papers for it and when all was said and done, he said he had access to my card and dangled that over my head. My son who's in grad school drove an hour to meet me there and had to leave because of the bad WiFi. He couldn't keep up with his work. That left me there alone, feeling unwelcome and wanting to leave. It was so foggy that I has to stay. I wonder if all people who travel with service dogs go through the same line of interrogation? I stood there defending myself from the barrage if questions, in front of others for $15. I feel I'm owed a refund and an apology! I'm getting the ADA involved because some things are just not right! The jetted tub leaked water and I found the conditions of the room subpar. ***Stain on the bed, things picked of the floor, pubic hairs in the bathroom, urine on the side of the commode and a well behaved service dog*** GO SOMEWHERE ELSE PEOPLE!

Despite being hard to find, this is a decent hotel
Being suites, I like the extra room available to stretch out in without sitting on the bed. Like many 50 year old hotels (I'm guessing) limited budgets & maintenance staff show up in things like peeing epoxy coating in the bathtub from where it was resurfaced but improperly. The breakfast area was small for the hotel size & frequently was out of food or coffee. The coffee machine was broken so no hot water for tea, Limited staffing meant the tables were dirty as no one cleans up after themselves anymore. Finally, the water that week, everywhere in South Padre had a horrible taste & smell. Well enough but don't use it in your water dispenser at the front desk
