Relevant to vegetarians
Had a very fun, relaxing time with family. The kitchen staff Alan and Catherin were really helpful and excellent. Only one thing is for vegetarians (for those who don't eat meat, chicken, fish) there wasn't a lot of main courses without meat. A tip is to write for each food item what it consists of so we don't have to keep asking if there is meat, fish etc in the salads. Overall, the hotel staff and pool staff were really good!!

Jorge and the Buenaventura Grand
Our second visit to this resort. Such an amazing facility. Proximity to the Malecon, restaurants and shopping is perfect. All amenities of resort are top notch and the service is friendly and A1. The person that stands out most was our Pool Server Jorge. What an amazing person. Always ready with a smile and at your service whenever you need anything. Thanks Jorge for making our stay memorable!

Pros and Cons of Buenaventura Grand
I stayed at this resort for the first two weeks of December 2024. I have stayed at all inclusive resorts in Mexico for about 25 years, from basic to opulent. It is an older property that caters mainly towards an older clientele and families. The resort is mid-range in terms of price and amenities. It is fairly small. I estimate from the languages spoken, and the clapping around the pool when asked where people are from, that 50% are from Mexico, and the rest evenly split between US, Canadian and Russia. If you book on Expedia like I did, your reservation will say “No Elevators”. Don’t worry, that’s nonsense. There are elevators. Pros: - I was happy with the value for what I paid. - The location is good. It’s a relatively short trip from and to the airport. The Malecon is a 10 minute walk away. There are stores and restaurants nearby. - The morning coffee station by the buffet restaurant was convenient. It is basic but does the job. If the urn is empty, you have 3 choices: Go into the restaurant even if closed, turn right, walk 10 feet, and take a cup of coffee out of the huge urn of coffee with a ladle; tell a staff person; or wait until the Lobby Bar staff person is setting up, and ask them to make you a nice coffee using their fancy machine. - The buffet restaurant has a reasonable breakfast. As is now often the case at Mexican all inclusive resorts, you have to ask for the bacon, which is kept behind and below the counter 10 feet to the left of the omelette station, and handed out like delicate flakes of gold. Reviewers who say “There is no bacon” are encouraged to spend a few minutes reading TripAdvisor reviews of this and other resorts, or just ask a staff person the next time. - The rooms are pretty quiet. I slept very well here, and I am a very light sleeper. I overheard another guest say the same thing. There are signs in the hallways that say “Silence is Appreciated”. Reviewers who give 1 out of 5 stars because of one single loud incident should book a cabin in the woods somewhere next winter. - The staff were generally attentive and seemed happy. - The hotel room doors close relatively quietly, unlike the Sheraton’s doors which are very spring loaded and sound like a rifle shot when they slam shut. - The Sky Bar is quiet and nice to visit for sunsets. You must be staying in a Deluxe room or better to access it. The staff are excellent. - The hotel is clean and in good shape. - You can book a late Check Out for 150 Pesos per hour, which entitles you to continue eating and drinking. However, you must still leave your room by the regular 12 noon Check Out. Reviewers whose vacations are ruined because they were asked to pay 150 Pesos ($8USD) per hour for unlimited food and drinks need to get a life. - There is a room you can book for 30 minutes to take a shower after you have checked out. - I like the fact that my room did not have a connecting door to another suite. You can hear everything through connecting doors in my experience. - The Sunset (Mediterranean) restaurant has generally good food, good staff, and beautiful views. - Wi-Fi is strong, even from the beach. - The young lady who restocked the mini bars was very friendly and thankfully came at the same time every day. Cons: - I would say about half of the “Deluxe Oceanview Rooms” in fact face mainly the buffet restaurant & Sky Bar complex, and the pool. The hotel should market those rooms, located furthest from the ocean, as “Partial Oceanview Rooms”. The hotel kindly assigned me a better oceanview room after I requested it. Like every good all inclusive in Mexico, it will take a day or two because they are fully booked. - Meats and pastas in the buffet restaurant for dinner on December 1st were all nearly cold. And that was right at the 6:30pm opening. This has been mentioned in previous reviews. The restaurant should have someone check the temperature of food. - The buffet restaurant has limited seating, so there are often line-ups. - While there are enough chairs at the pool and beach for all the guests, there are not enough umbrellas. The hotel should continue to invest in more umbrellas. - The little signs mentioning the 15-minute rule to prevent people from reserving chairs at 6am and then disappearing for hours are not large enough and the font is not large enough. - As other reviewers have commented, the rooms are fairly small. The pictures that they have taken for their website and tour operators were taken with a wide angle lens. - The Adults Pool is very small and is filled with concrete lounge beds. - While the beach is mostly sandy, and you can walk barefoot at the water’s edge, it quickly turns into millions of pebbles and small rocks a few feet into the water. But I’ve found this is common at other PV resorts. It didn’t seem to bother kids. I started to wear sandals to get in the ocean, swim, and get out. Problem solved. - The Lobby Bar is small and not very inviting. It seemed like a place for a quick drink before moving on. With some improvements, it could be more inviting. - The fabric cushions of the wicker furniture in the Lobby Bar, Lobby and Sky Bar are badly stained and should be replaced with nice, thicker fake leather cushions. - Dinner at the Corazon (Mexican) restaurant takes 1.5 to 2 hours because the courses for everyone in the restaurant are served at the same time, so you are waiting for the slowest eater of each course in the restaurant to finish before the next course comes in. I suggest they serve each table when they’re ready. Also, the view is of the inside of the buffet restaurant, the kitchen, and the hallway. I suggest the hotel make the space more inviting. - It was disappointing to see some thoughtless parents bringing their babies and toddlers into the main pool. The kids pool is literally only 30 feet away. No fault of the resort. - Used dishes from Room Service left on hallway credenzas is collected sometimes in the middle of the night, waking people up. I suggest that the hotel take them away only during daylight hours. - This is common at all-inclusives in my experience: Eggs and Omelettes are made first by dumping a 2 tablespoon ladle of cooking oil into a frying pan, then dumping the ingredients in that, and mixing is all together. It’s not healthy, and that much oil upsets the stomach. I use about 10% of that much oil and make great omelettes. On my next visit I’ll use Google Translate to try to get her to use less for me. But I have to stress that she was very friendly. And yes, as other reviewers have said, you should bring your phone with you to use a QR code to have your eggs made. It takes literally 15 seconds to enter your order, then grab some yogurt and fruit, tell a staff person what sort of coffee or juice you would like, and pick up your egg order! Overall, I enjoyed my stay and will return. People who demand at this price point fluffy slippers, luxurious bath robes, and steaks and lobster at every dinner at no extra cost are living in a fantasy world. I’m sorry, but you need to be spending 2 to 3 times as much at a luxurious budget-killing resort.

Awesome smaller resort!
So much fun! Kind and helpful employees! This is a great place for families, great food and drinks. Very clean rooms and outdoors! Smaller resort for sure but that has advantages like super fun parties. Wake up early to get reservations for the day as they book up fast.

Loved this place and people.
We just left on Dec 13/2024 and our stay was amazing!! All of the people that work there were incredible! They were very helpful, polite and enthusiastic. The food and drinks were excellent and the place is very clean. We loved being so close to all of the hustle and bustle of the town and all of the attractions. The unexpected highlight of the trip for us was all of the local couples and families that were staying there, it gave it an authentic feel for being at an all inclusive. We will be bringing our whole family there next year.
