Apr 20, 2025Great place, highly recommend, wonderful vacation
we stayed here April 8-15 2025, myself, my daughter and my grandson. we all had an amazing time. everything and everyone here was awesome. all staff everywhere on the resort were awesome. everyone was very friendly and always seemed happy and smiling. my grandson really liked catherine from the bufffet restaurant. our room attendant was gloria and she was wonderful. we never tried the a la carte supper restaurants because there was nothing on those menus that my grandson would want to eat, but it wasn't an issue because the buffet food was great. we had breakfast and lunch off the menu at the sunset restaurant a couple of times, was really good. the food at the buffet was really good, some of the dishes could have been a higher temperature though. we had a good time at the Mexican fiesta night and the Caribbean night. fun times. we never went up to the sky bar, even though we had booked a room class that included use of the sky bar, with having my grandson there, we were not able to go up there because it was adults only. we don't particularly drink very much alcohol so I can't say much about the drinks or the bars. Would have liked a drink menu though to see what drinks were available at each bar. the pools were great, we liked the fact that they were heated, the smaller one was really warm and it was a little bit more quieter than the bigger main pool. we never went over to the adults only area of the pool with the loungers in the water. there is a kids club but we never made use of those services but it looked nice. we never went up to the spa or never went to the gym so I can't say anything about those. the whole resort and room was very clean, no issues with any of the amenities, we always had what we needed. there wasn't much nightly entertainment, I would generally like more dancing and themed night shows and a silent disco night but with my grandson there it was ok because he was ready for bed around 9pm-10pm each night so we didn't really stay or look for much nightly entertainment around the resort. loved being so close to the malecon. loved walking around the area, felt very safe. overall we very much enjoyed our stay, didn't want to leave, highly recommend this resort, we will definitely be back. my grandson says in 2 years when he's 6 is when we are coming back. thanks buenaventura grand for a much needed vacation in the sun, weather was perfect. we miss the sun and the ocean and the hot weather.

Had a great stay at the Buenaventura Grand, location was perfect (8-10 minute walk to the Malecon), service was good and there was a decent selection of food so that you could find options to fit your taste each meal. Room size was average and the balcony/patio was average/small. Only drawback was there is no swim up bar, no afternoon shade in the pool and the beach was a bit rocky. Thanks to Jorge Flores for taking care of us by the pool each day and knowing what we liked for food/beverages. Thanks also to Rudy and Fausto. Great breakfast service was provided by Arelis each day knowing exactly what we all needed. Thanks also to Francia and Alejandra for evening beverages and food in the lobby and sky bar. Housekeeping did a great job keeping the rooms clean and our refrigerator stocked each day. Worth booking the ocean view room so that you can get access to the sky bar which is nice for the view plus extra food and beverage options.

Apr 18, 2025It's giving shady business practices.
I've been trying to contact them to request an itemized receipt—a standard document I need for reimbursement purposes. Not only do they ignore my emails, but when I first called to follow up, the staff berated me saying I should've requested it when checking out. The second time I called, the staff hung up on me once she heard my request. I'm not asking for anything unusual—just a copy of my charges. If basic courtesy and professionalism are this hard to come by, I’d strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

6th time visit!
Returned for 6th visit March 25-April 8. Got out of cab and welcomed by bellboy who remembers us! Arrived early, 10:30 am, room not ready but received our bracelets so off and running. Right awaygreeted by hugs from old friends Fausto, Eduardo and Gustavo. Later by Oscar and Francia. New entertainment team, seems to change every year, but that’s OK. As always,top notch food & bev service. Got a great Oceanview room that we booked, bed comfortable, fabulous A/c. A couple times we had to call maintenance for lack of hot water, apparently hotel has 2 boilers and one was being fixed? Got great response from Julio (MOD) when any issues arose. Couple of issues/observations- the ongoing towels down on chairs with no bums. BVG has for a few years had signs saying 15 mins unoccupied that belongings will be taken. While I applaud the efforts to crack down on abuse(people that put down towels early, go for a tour or shopping), the 15 min is not in the spirit of fixing the problem. You can’t even go for breakfast, you need more like an hour to be honest. I am an early riser, I go down early to get chairs for my wife and I, but STAY there. Then my wife and I have breakfast in shifts. Been doing that for a few years, it’s a little sad to be honest! While breakfast and lunch, and a la Carte’s are very good, sadly the dinner buffet is lacking in variety. Stew? Really? We used to go out for 5 dinners and a lunch on a 2 wk. visit, this time 8 dinners out, only used dinner buffet 4 times. Mgmt. What happened to the pasta station you used to do 3 times a week? I love going out in PV for dinner, but it’s beginning to become a necessity! Also have to mention how great it is to see past guests we have met in previous yrs. Many repeat guests, we usually compare notes in the a.m. for new restaurant suggestions. There are many options in PV. We will be back, hope to see some improvement on dinner buffet, and towel allotment time. Cheers everybody!

Beach, pool, sand volleyball and great food and entertainment: Must stay at Buenaventura Hotel
My family and I bought the day pass and spent 6 hours at this hotel and we had an amazing experience! We loved having direct access to the beach and many pools as well! Our kids had such a blast! Additionally, Max Villaseñor was a great entertainer and amazing volleyball player! He organized a volleyball game and it was quite the game! We will be back! 5/5 stay!
