Jan 09, 2025Everything was very good and relaxing with friendly and happy people.
The relaxing atmosphere that surrounds you in this paradisiacal hotel is wonderful, although the days we were talking have been a little cloudy have been incredible, we did not miss going to the cenote or the areas in the SPA with a hot pool It's relaxing. In aquamarine they have beds that are undoubtedly a jewel, sleeping in them listening to the waves is another level. RIB's tacos are exquisite and the service is very good. We are really happy everything has seemed fabulous to us.

Since 2014 we visited Blue Diamond approximately 4 times a year. We stopped going because the staff who knew us were going elsewhere. We decided to make a reservation and try it again because we missed the atmosphere of an adult only experience. To come to the point we never went because of a horrible experience with the concierge and hotel manager. In email conversation with the concierge I requested an umbrella in the room because of a medical condition called vitiligo. I cannot sit directly in the sun because of lack of pigment in large areas of my skin. I have in the past always been accommodated. But not this time. I was told only the beach front casitas get umbrellas. I asked her to speak to the manager and she again said no. We therefore canceled the reservation and made one at a nearby hotel. My point is if they couldn’t accommodate a simple request what would the rest of the experience be like. Blue D

calm, natural and quiet
The experience of coming to this hotel I recommend not to skip it, everything quiet with a good beach, it is like being immersed in a jungle, comfortable and with good service. We are seriously grateful for all the good attention that you will undoubtedly be fascinated. To get to the beach there is a considerable distance but you can go by bike or ask for a golf cart. But if you prefer to live the experience you can walk along the incredible path surrounded by trees and see a diversity of animals.

Much to say, the stay was so pleasant and so beautiful, the service of all their staff fascinated us, without a doubt we felt very well taken care of by people who you can tell genuinely like their work. In concierge Nelly always answered our calls, in the part of activities Monica has been very friendly in the cenote, in the same way along with her partner Yiovana. In bars the best at the bar has been Polo? A very kind young man and that makes delicious drinks. But let's talk about the beautiful views, the sea so blue and the clean beach, the comfortable lounge chairs, it is a dream without a doubt and the weather has been phenomenal, everything envelops you in a serene and quiet atmosphere.

Jan 03, 2025Disappointing Honeymoon Stay: Blue Diamond Resort Falls Short of Expectations
We stayed at Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Resort for our honeymoon and, while the experience had its highlights, it ultimately fell short of expectations, especially for a resort claiming luxury. We love Mexico and have been to the Cancun/Riviera Maya area many times, so we were especially excited about trying a boutique resort for a more catered and intimate experience. Unfortunately, this property did not meet the standard of other resorts we’ve visited in the region. General Overview Pros: • Beautiful location in the heart of Riviera Maya, conveniently close to Playa del Carmen. • Natural surroundings, including a jungle setting and a lagoon with two alligators, were captivating. • New Year’s Eve festivities were a standout, with an impressive show and a multi-course dinner. • The concierge was responsive and helpful, assisting us in arranging taxis for two excursions, which made those outings seamless and stress-free. Cons: • The resort is expansive (about a mile long), requiring a significant amount of walking. While bikes and golf cart shuttles are available, they were often unavailable or in poor condition. The bikes, in particular, were rusted and had unreliable brakes. • The plumbing throughout the resort was subpar. Water pressure was inconsistent, and the shower in our room often fluctuated between hot and cold. On one occasion, our toilet failed to flush properly, requiring us to call for assistance. • Poolside service was lacking. If you wanted to get drinks or food in a reasonable amount of time, you had to walk up to the bar yourself, which undermines the relaxed atmosphere you’d expect at a luxury resort. • The resort felt understaffed, which impacted the overall experience. Room cleaning was inconsistent (only done two out of five days), and there was no turn-down service. • The food was average at best. There are only two restaurants: one open all day and another for dinner only. Meals were decent but lacked the elevated dining experience one might expect from a luxury resort. • Charging $20 for room service, despite the all-inclusive price tag, felt unreasonable. The Grounds The natural beauty of the grounds is undeniable, but the property needs maintenance. While the pool and beach were well-kept, other areas, such as the lagoon and jungle paths, showed signs of neglect. Rooms We were assigned the last available king room on the property, which may explain its poor condition. However, even for peak season, the state of the room was unacceptable for the price and “luxury” branding. Issues: • Stains on lampshades and rusted mirrors and curtains. • A lumpy, uncomfortable bed with visibly old bedding that made us question its cleanliness. • Paint peeling in the bathroom, and marble floors were dangerously slippery. My husband fell and thankfully only bruised himself, but it could have been much worse. • Outdated TV with no clear channel guide and poor picture quality. • Small bugs were found in the bed on the last day. • Plumbing issues extended to our room as well, with inconsistent water temperature in the shower and a toilet that occasionally didn’t function properly. • Only one outlet on one side of the bed, which made it inconvenient to charge devices for both of us. The room desperately needs a full renovation to meet the standards one would expect at this price point. Final Thoughts While we appreciated the natural beauty and a few special moments, such as the New Year’s Eve celebration, Blue Diamond Luxury Boutique Resort fell short of expectations. The responsive and helpful concierge was one of the few bright spots, making our excursions hassle-free. However, we cannot overlook the lack of staffing, outdated facilities, plumbing issues, subpar poolside service, and underwhelming food. We love Mexico and have visited many other resorts in the Cancun/Riviera Maya area, and this one unfortunately did not compare in terms of service, upkeep, and overall experience. For future vacations, we would prefer a larger resort with more amenities, consistent upkeep, and better service. While we enjoyed aspects of the jungle setting, we would not return to this property.
