WARNING! READ ALL RECENT 2024 REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING, WISH I HAD !
Stayed here in in 10/24. Late review, wanted to give hotel owner & BW customer service the chance to right a wrong. I'm a huge BW fan & travel extensively for work & pleasure. I've NEVER experienced such a blatant "go f*&^ yourself" response from any business ever. I've reviewed over 40 hotels & eateries across several travel sites, this is only my 2nd negative review, I believe its better to praise than punish. - Check in, desk staff (visibly rude to couple in front of me as they checked in), annoyed when I asked "do rewards members get 2 free waters upon check-in as I've experienced @ other BWs?" Her response, while looking at her computer & zero eye contact was to point to a fridge across from her desk and say "yes, get it yourself". During check-in she asked if I was parking a car cuz I'd need a pass @ 22$ per night. I said "NO, I'd been dropped off by friends who needed to borrow my car to visit family after the recent hurricane. Did they need a pass for my car if they were here over an hour or so when they picked me up? "She said no, the lot isn't really monitored that closely in fall so no worries." -Checked in room -very strong mold smell but gave them benefit of the doubt due to recent hurricane. Shut off a/c & opened balcony door to air it out. Closed it at bedtime & put on a/c. -Awoken at 6:00 am to drilling, saws. construction (see other reviews mentioning same), called front desk to ask WTH, response was, roof construction, repair leaks from hurricane. I said, this was not disclosed on the website when booking, nor upon check-in. She assured me it was on the website ( I double checked & have screen shot of page with no disclosure). I could check out early at not extra charge. I had no car, not an option unless I wanted to incur Uber cost going to Daytona, 20 miles away, to stay at a hotel I had points at. So early checkout wasn't feasible. -Over the 2 days there I was extremely congested and had a hard time falling asleep with sneezing and congestion which made it even harder when I had just gotten to sleep at 2 am, then awoken at 6:00 by construction! -Last night there I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and stepped on an air vent that had fallen out of the ceiling. It was dark & I just wanted to fall back asleep before the 6:00 jackhammer wake up call! -In the morning I saw the disgusting black mold (see photos), in the a/c vent, hence my congestion and malaise. -Checked out the next day when my friends returned w/my car. Lost my spare key FOB somewhere in the room. I had it in my hand but set it down when my friends came up to help me w/the large amount of luggage I had (which I'd removed from my car to make room for their stuff). Housekeeping was very sweet in helping me look for it but strangely it was never found. Asked the front desk to call me if it was found. not surprisingly, no response. -Submitted auto review request sent to my email after checkout -similar review as above-received no response from hotel franchise owner. -Weeks later, submitted review to Best Western Corporate, no response for several weeks, upon me following up I received the ridiculous response from the hotel owner re: giving me free parking (see photo of email) for my non existent parked car. All I have to say is WOW BW! All I asked for was a PARTIAL refund of my reward points wasted on this sh&^%$t show of a hotel. I wish I could transfer all of my BW points to Hyatt or Marriott. Sadly, after MANY great BW experiences this experience & resulting customer service response left me w/no faith in the Best Western brand. Sorry to say you have lost a lifelong Diamond member customer.

one and done
DO NOT DO IT! People taking advantage of FEMA assistance, smelling pot or whatever substance every day and last day while having to wear a boot due to a broken foot had to descend theee flights of stairs because the elevator was broken. The view is incredible but not worth the headache. Will not be back.

Avoid, Avaid, Avoid.
We haven’t even gone to bed yet and I’d advise you to avoid this place at all costs. There are 2 elevators. Only one works. The balcony door won’t lock. The desk clerk shrugged and said “it’s the salt air; don't worry, Spiderman is inNew York.” The bathroom floor hadn’t been swept. We were furnished 1/4 rolls of of toilet paper. The TV wouldn’t turn on. The desk clerk made me come to the foyer to replace the batteries because he was the only emplyee on the premises. if I could give this dump zero stars, I would..

Room with Roaches for $300/night!
Started off great. I had a late check in and the girl at the front desk was super friendly and knowledgeable. I got to my room around midnight and was greeted roach after roach. Under the covers, in the shower, on the couch, and all over the walls.

Many unexpected negatives
Realize they won’t tell you important information you should know about the hotel when booking a reservation or upon checkin. They won’t tell you upon booking or checking in that there will be deafening construction/heavy equipment noise coming from the room above your room that starts at 7 am. They won’t tell you upon booking your reservation that only 1 car per room is allowed to park in the lot and it costs $22/night for that parking. They won’t tell you upon checking in that there is not daily maid service to your room. Also unexpected is that the room’s ocean view balcony will have a noisy & unsightly a/c compressor right next to the chairs. There is no shower for rinsing off sand at the entry to the hotel or pool from the beach. The showers are located in the middle of the pool deck where difficult to see in the dark of night. It seems the only way to get from the hotel out to the pool is by going outside and through the underground garage and up steep/high stairs.
