Pleasant Gulf View Stay with Some Considerations
Overall: We enjoyed our stay, particularly the beautiful gulf views. However, there were a few points to consider before booking. Room: Pros: Clean and comfortable king room with a fantastic ocean view. The room was well-equipped with a microwave, coffee pot, and mini-fridge. Cons: The shower pressure was a bit weak. We also experienced noise from children running in the room above. Dining: We attempted breakfast at the hotel restaurant, expecting a buffet based on information received at check-in. Service was slow due to limited staff, and the menu seemed overpriced. We opted for Asiago Skillet one morning for breakfast, which offered good breakfast selection with larger sized pancakes. Another morning was at Crack of Dawn Cafe. Bamboo’s Jamaican Restaurant and The Back Porch are good lunch/dinner options. Parking: Self-parking was available for $15 per day. The lot was not full during our February/March stay. Beach: The beach featured beautiful white sand and clear water. Beach chair and umbrella rentals were available for $45 per day. Value: This boutique hotel, part of the Hilton brand, felt overpriced for the time of year (February/March). We recommend comparing prices with other beachfront hotels in the area. Walking the beach from the pier is a great way to explore nearby options, as hotels are closer than they appear on maps. The drive to locations was also faster than anticipated. Would I stay again? Possibly, but I would conduct more thorough research and price comparisons before booking.

Super customer service
This is an impeccably, clean, smaller boutique beach hotel with incredible staff. I had a family event so I booked four rooms and for myself as well as my entire family it was an amazing accommodation for a few days. The on-site restaurant is amazing and we quite honestly could’ve ate there for every meal because it was so good and the service was so perfect. Austin and Camille at the front desk were always so welcoming and enthusiastic each and every day. Their customer service was above and beyond. Again, I think the difference here is that this clean and highly customer service focused Hotel is engaging and supportive of their customers on all levels and are very proud of their work and service. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful hotel
The hotel itself was good. The restaurant was out of almost everything the duration of our stay which was frustrating. Sean checked us in and he was fantastic. The hotel is right on the beach which is what we wanted. Lovely heated pool as well.

Excellent, Smaller Beachfront Hotel
Located in the heart of Okaloosa Island, with the same beaches as nearby Destin but a much quieter, more pedestrian-friendly environment. This Hilton-branded hotel was formerly a pastel Best Western with a popular small bar, the Swizzle Stick. That bar is now The Remedy, a combo restaurant bar. Breakfast (extra cost) was excellent except for the hash browns. The hotel has been nicely redone with a light and nostalgic beachfront feel, with lots of old photos (none of which are the local area, as I grew up on Okaloosa Island). The room was spotless as were the common areas. The keyless checkin is a great irritation-saver which allows you go to straight to your preselected room (with the Hilton app). Some of the rooms are directly gulf-front and some have eastern or western views but no gulf views to speak of. If a view is important to you, choose the gulf-front rooms. The staff in the restaurant were very friendly; the front desk staff were not as outgoing: no smiles or unsolicited greetings, but they were friendlier on the app. I consider this a better choice than some of the newer “box” hotels on the island which do not have balconies or exterior entrances; they might as well be at an interstate exchange. I spent a 2-night getaway here, I live about an hour away and it was nice to spend a couple winter days at the beach. I plan to make staying here a regular thing. The only negative is that I didn’t receive the food and beverage credit I had preselected when I made my reservation. A recommended, small-scale hotel on quiet(er) Okaloosa Island, with several restaurants and bars within easy walking distance.
