This was my first time in Costa Rica. Markel in the dining area was very helpful and kind. He made it feel like home and answered all my questions professionally. He gave great beer recommendations (Pilsen) and it was very tasty and refreshing.

First visit to Costa Rica from America
Maykel Cerdas made our stay at the hotel and restaurant exceptional! He had wonderful suggestions on great tasting beverages and was very helpful throughout our stay. He has a great attitude and you can tell he takes pride in his job. He is a top notch person and the establishment should be proud to have him as an employee!

Feb 20, 2025The Spectacular, the Mediocre and the Disappointing
We stayed here for 1 night between destinations. Overall it was an enjoyable stay with some highlights. The Mediocre-- the room was a little tired but fine. The "master" switch for the lights and outlets is near the bed instead of by the door which took us a minute to find. We had to wait more than a bit to get checked in. The included breakfast offers many choices, and we found plenty of fresh fruit, tamales and gallo pinto to make us happy. The Disappointing-- The pool and pool bar close at 5? Whoever made this policy apparently doesn't vacation and enjoy drinks and dinner by the beautiful pool! This does seem to be a place that a lot of tour groups frequent. The Spectacular-- The gardens and wildlife are amazing-- we saw lots of birds! And crazily enough, the margherita pizza in the hotel bar was absolutely the best pizza we have ever had, and the drinks at both bars were good and decently priced. The pool had plenty of comfortable seating, including hammocks!

This hotel is quite outdated. Pool was freezing. Food was mediocre. We arrived around 4pm and were told room was not ready. Aside from that- room was clean, staff were very pleasant and professional. Grounds were pretty. Pianist was great!

Would not go again
We had the presidential suite. The rooms were ok. The suite was huge. The beds were comfortable. Wardrobes were old, wooden ones. Room service is super slow, we fell asleep by the time they brought the dinner. The breakfast is a true disappointment unfortunately. No glutenfree bread available. Only one egg station with a long queue therefore guests are impatient. The same queue to the coffee machine. But decaf machine is also available. Nice pool.
