Nov 19, 2024Didn't meet my expectations.
Water pressure in the bathroom is too low. No hot water during the night . Plumbing is dirty and rusty. Rooms are dirty. Mold on the bathroom ceiling. Toilet tank was leaking. Sink was clogged. Low quality of the buffet food . No beach umbrellas.

What an awesome time my husband and I had at Barcelo Adults Only. Room was ready from check-in. Our room was very cool all the time which was nice, very comfortable bed and pillows. Our housekeeper always made sure we had everything we needed in our room from linen and towels. Gotta give special shoutouts to our waiter/bartender Elizabeth Rodriguez during the night entertainment who always made sure we had our preferred drinks on hand! She was such a pleasure, even went out her way to get my husband a birthday cake and sing to him which was a great surprise! Also can’t forget the entertainment team (Ariana, Jason, Ezequiel, Chris Brown and the whole crew) were simply the best! Thank You Barcelo for an awesome birthday week for my husband!

Dissappointment awaits you...
Resort Barvaro Beach was pretty. That is where it ends. Staff was indifferent and inconvenienced by questions: Do you have Jameson? The answer was nonverbal and a rushed hand along the bar with the bartender walking away completely. Asking to meet with guest services after a request to schedule airport transfers I was given a hand gesture and told hastily "over there" After doing that three different times, I finally found it myself (behind a separate check-in at a back office completely out of view from common foot traffic). Food at the buffet was often undercooked/cold in the middle including meat and underattended (served once and left under warming lamps to crust/scorch on top) with few variations. Greeting staff was often ignored/unaswered. With some charges questioned, I simply asked where they were generated: upcharge for dinner at the Palace (sister resort)? I even contacted Barcelo but was met with a VERY different tone as when I booked. Customer service is severely lacking at every turn for an all inclusive. I am a seasoned traveler who is very low maintenance and I was extremely disappointed. Price is reasonable but seriously consider extending your search. We have many island trips planned and this first experience will be our last.

Not what we expected.
Rooms and staff need attention by upper management and chain of command. Wife and I did not receive what was offered and promised for our anniversary.

Great R&R
A wonderful place to stay. Lots of food selections, including many vegetarian options. Amazing staff. Lots of entertainment and activities. Pool is extremely nice and clean. Room was great. Huge bed. Definitely would recommend this resort. Top Notch!
