Fantasy Island
Great place to be, it feels a little like “Fantasy Island”. Great restaurants, great staff. The bracelet works at all the bars in the Bahia hotel group here, so one can explore and still get a drink and coffee. Wifi is seem less at all corners of the resort. Easy to use electrical buss service across the large resort. Rooms are large and well cleaned. I truly can’t think of a negative, beside putting on weight despite the gym. Rosa makes the best coffee at the sports bar.

Great service and experience at Esmerelda
Just got back after a week at Esmerelda with our 18 month old. We have stayed at Ambar before and Esmerelda is definitely a family friendly version of Ambar. We had a lovely stay all thanks to Willmer from guest services who helped us with anything we needed and more. It was like having a friend watching out for us for the week. He is a gem of a person and we would totally come back because of the experience he provided. The staff are all very friendly especially towards kids. There is always something for the kids to eat wherever you eat. Just ask for the kids menu. We went to Maiko, Yurta, Cassa Bella, Portofino and Tequila. Yurta is everyones favourite for a reason. You choose your own meat, veggies and carb. It was a lovely experience. Casa Bella had great food and service. Cant really go wrong with the menu. Maiko is your standard teppanyaki place. Tequila has very delicious food. It is definitely a must try but the service takes very long so just be aware if you have kids. Its an open air restaurant as well so bring mosquito repellent. We had no mosquitos on the esmerelda side. The resort is laid out very nicely. Everything within Esmerelda is steps away and easy to get to. Bring your whitenoise machines to drown out late night entertainment music for the kids to sleep. Rooms are very nicely renovated and are energy efficient.

Very good option for a budget "5 star" all inclusive in Punta Cana
This is a very good option for a budget "5 star" all inclusive in Punta Cana. In reality this is closer to a 4 star resort. They say the resort if fully renovated but I would call it more of a facelift. Everything was pretty clean and the rooms were good with decent bedding and amenities. The one big thing that is lacking is service especially on the beach and by the pool. We also found the size drinks to be ridiculously small so bring a cup of your own. Also they do not have bottled water at the pool or beach so again bring a cup for that as well. Food for breakfast and lunch was passable but all the dinner restaurants we tried were good and the service excellent.

WONDERFUL! I WILL BE BACK!
I stayed in Jr suite. Beautiful: jacuzzi tub/shower/ very clean modern attractive rm. 24 hour CSR rep, inside building where i stayed. AMAZING! BAHIA PRINICPE has 7 resorts on this plantation. Plenty of transport to take u around compound. Beach gorgeous. Thank u Ramon (swim up bartender) for great drinks! Pool amazing. Weather is the BEST! Great security.. Buffets can improve. Garden grill/ Maiko was awesome! Taino/ Fish market ok. Punta adventures- 3 mega combo 5 stars! CON: NO ONE @ BAHIA ESMERALDA should be allowed to have pool/beach chair all day, by placing their towel on it! U move, then allow someone else opportunity to lounge! Ppl woke up 7am to place towels on chairs, ridiculous!

A holiday to repeat
Food and entertainment very good. The hotel is clean, spacious, and with lots of evening entertaining. During the day, we enjoyed the sun, swimming pool and hot front beach. The entertaining team (Hector, Carlos, Ezequiel, Mango, and the ladies) worked very hard to ensure all guest had a SUPER time at hotel. I loved the karaoke nights (with a welcoming audience).
