We travelled here over Christmas and new year for 3 weeks. We had a corner suite 60201. The room was really spacious with a beautiful bath. Great location. The speciality restaurants were great especially Limbo and Portofino. Yurts was good as well and the buffet awesome. There is so much to choose from, anyone that says that they struggled with food was most likely looking for issues and awkward! Room service was good. The wings at the sports bar were the best. We didn’t try the snack bars as we were always too full. The coffee shop was on par with Costa or Starbucks including the chocolate chip cookies, cakes and mini sandwiches. In the buffet the “coffee coffee” guy is memorable. The beach was stunning, watch out for tarantulas in the palm trees. The pool and beach service was excellent and the servers were always on hand to top up drinks. There were always sunbeds avi ale on the beach and around the pool- if you struggle, just ask one of the staff members and they will find some and you can choose the location. The Christmas Eve gala meal was phenomenal. On Christmas Day there was a bbq much around the pool serving a variety of meats including tomahawk steaks cooked to order. New Year’s Eve was also a great feast with so much variety for everyone. The little carts ran regularly and were easy to navigate. Room service was prompt and easy. We used jungle juice spray and didn’t get bitten once by mosquitoes, sand dead or no seaums. The room cleaners were efficient and cleaned the room daily, replaced towels, coffee and drinks from the fridge. The safe was secure and we didn’t have any items go missing. We were very fortunate with the weather for the entirety of our stay with only some very, very brief showers on a few of the days (less than 5 minutes). We only left the hotel to go on organised trips as the area surrounding the hotel (road side) didn’t look like the best of places to venture out on foot. The beach side was safe and looked like you could walk for miles. There were a lot of vendors on the beach, but they didn’t pester you- they just walked around with the goods that they were selling. We walked around all of the other hotels ( including fantasia - we didn’t think that we were allowed to access - but security waved is in and said Ambar are allowed- I don’t know if this is a new thing as we were told that we weren’t allowed). The other hotels all looked nice. There was a mangrove in the centre of the resort and we always looked out for the white bird with long legs each day! There are lots of shops inside of the resort at each hotel. There is also a shopping village that is nice to walk around. The mini golf was fun. There are also tennis courts and a water park along with a wave rider. The gym was well equipped on Ambar, there are also two others but we didn’t go into those. The Hindu Nann restaurant was our least favourite, but everyone has different tastes. We have travelled to Bahias in Mexico and the brand is very consistent between countries. Overall we wouldn’t hesitate to return back here and would recommend it. Great holiday.

Wonderful!
Incredible vacation with excellent service. Beach and pools were beautiful with amazing weather. The staff at this hotel could not have been more welcoming and available to assist. Antonio in the lobby is the nicest person with an incredible memory and a master at customer service.

Disappointing Stay: Poor Service, Subpar Food & Drink, and Uncontrolled Mosquitoes Leading to Costly Hospitalisation
We returned to the UK from a 2 week holiday 21st Dec 2024, and I can honestly say I have never been more glad to be home. After visiting Bahia Principe Luxury Si'an Khan in Mexico April 2024 and absolutely loving it, we cannot say how disappointing this experience was. Clearly, the high standards of customer experience are not mirrored throughout the Bahia resorts. The resort itself is nicely laid out. There's a great choice of restaurants and bars, but if you want decent quality food and drinks, it's generally subpar. With the exceptìn of Yurta, Limbo, Las Olas (Brazilian Grill) main bar & the coffee shop, prepare to be disappointed as we were. The food in the main restaurant and beach restaurant was just repeated constantly and very luttle imagination. We found the staff with the exception of the aforementioned generally miserable and very unhelpful, that is, unless you tip for everything. We tip and are usually very generous, but when you only get good service after tipping, we refuse to. The standard of the rooms was pretty good, although cleanliness and attention to detail maintenance wise was not great. We upgraded to a swim up. The swim up pool was not the cleanest, and when they cut the grass, it went in the pool. No cold water quite a few times, but this appears to be a regular complaint with guests, and the hotel doesn't seem bothered. The music round the main pool was during the day was like Clubland and was so loud it carried up to our swim up. Hey, I love music but not so loud you can't relax. The biggest issue for us was the ridiculous and uncontrolled level of Mosquito's throughout the resort. There is absolutely no attempt by the hotel to contain them. It was only after I was hospitalised that we saw any action, despite asking for the room to be sprayed numerous times. After being bitten numerous times, I developed a severe allergic reaction, which resulted in 2 nights in the hospital at a cost of $5,500 for 2 nights!!! The hotel was aware of my Hospitalisation but made not attempt to check if we were okay or see if there was anything we needed. My husband who rarely gets bitten was also bitten too. I did try to contact the hotel to formally complain by email but they seem to make it very difficult - perhaps so they don't receive complaints like this.

A beautiful Christmas and New year holiday
Myself & my partner spent 2 glorious weeks here from 20th December-3rd January & it was amazing The hotel was spotless, always being cleaned honestly we couldn't fault that part Our room was cleaned every day, it was huge too, 2 small double beds but perfect for us Fresh towels every day, if there's 1 thing inked us, it was the 'trickle of water' from the shower, & that's it exactly what it was, no water pressure whatsoever very frustrating when all you wanted after a day of being covered in sun tan oils & sweat & could never feel clean but we managed The grounds, spotless, always the groundsmen sweeping, cutting doing what they do Pool service 💯 we loke to move about so got our own drinks most of the time, shout out to Ruddi, he reserved us a bed every morning, he's a legend in our eyes, Ramon, towel guy, so smiley ☺️ just adorable Pool staff....fantastic banter with my partner soon as they saw him the 'Coco loco' was being made 😂 they called him 'Coco crazy' by the end of the trip excellent service by them Á la Carte...we did Limbo & Portifino, no complaints 👌 everything was spot on, but, we're not that sort of people, happy with the buffet as I'm a extremely fussy eater & found they were a waste of time for is personally Christmas was amazing 👏 shout out to everyone who made it magical, no complaints NEW YEARS EVE....☹️ sorry but it wasn't for me food wise....not only am I a fussy eater, I'm also vegetarian I also don't eat fish & it seemed that was my only choice, yes there was bits of salad dotted about but not enough to garner a plate of food so I sat there with nothing in front of me, I felt extremely disappointed we travelled from the UK 🇬🇧 so this holiday cost us a lot of money to have no choice of food on a special night.......no I didn't say anything before you ask, I'm not like that type of person, just stating it on here for any future travellers like 'me', just be prepared, an excellent set up don't get me wrong the way all the food was presented was amazing, I work in catering & took loads of photos to show my manager when I return to work on Monday, the attention to detail was outstanding. Mozzies= We got savaged, but in the hotels defence we'd 4 days of horrendous rain & thunderstorms from we arrived & the humidity was stifling, perfect breeding ground for them, my bites got badly infected to the point that I struggled to walk, I treated myself with antihistamines & antiseptic creams but really needed antibiotics, I managed though & back home now my healing can begin All that aside, it was wonderful ( yes I know hard to believe from this review) but I'm from a generation that just 'gets on with it, it is what it is & we're we're we chose' so you make the most of it 😊 Would we return absolutely....if we could be guaranteed no mosquitoes 😂 Do I recommend this hotel....absolutely 🤔 Oh entertainment guys were amazing 👏 can't forget them Also the adorable kitties 😸 & kittens around the complex please bring them food, I fed them from the buffet, salmon, chicken, beef, I wasn't eating it, it was paid for, so they got it 😅 Go here & have a fabulous time, sorry to anyone I missed Dave & Rosh room 69307

Great place to lose weight
The rooms are nice and the grounds and beach are beautiful. The food is terrible and the wine whether it's white, red or rose is not fit for human consumption. They do have good wine if you want to pay for it though. We spent 13k on the trip and it was our third time at this hotel in 3 years. Our group will not be returning. While dining at the fish market almost every table that was seated near us got up and left due to the lousy food. They couldn't cook a steak to save their lives at the steak house and at the Italian restaurant it really didn't matter which pizza I ordered I always received a pepperoni and the sauce was tasteless. We couldn't believe the quality had slipped this much since last April. I lost 6 pounds in 10 days and my wife lost 4. The resort is really a 3 star thanks to the food and beverages.
