Amazing corporate retreat location
Wonderful resort on the beach in Wailea. Relaxed and helpful staff, great resort amenities including a semi-private beach, and multiple pools across the resort. Most rooms, including ours, had a view of the ocean. Our corporate retreat was well accommodated and we had a memorable experience.

Roach-mobile
I have been a Globalist and loyal to Hyatt for many years. This stay at the Andaz in Wailea was the WORST experience I have ever had at a Hyatt hotel. When we checked into our room, there were a million tiny ants crawling on the walls of our room. We called the front desk to ask for another room. They said they could move us to a suite…but it would cost us $250 more per night. There was no other room available. No compensation was offered..only a flat apology. We were finally able to speak to the manager after 1.5 hrs of waiting in the lobby. Only when we mentioned the poor customer service did the manager comp one breakfast and 2 drink cards. Whoopee. An employee was sent to our room to spray a “nontoxic” spray but it did not rid our room of the ants. A side-note about the standard rooms: The standard rooms are very small, oddly shaped, and poorly designed!!! Our experience did not get better. On our second night, we requested our car from valet. As the car pulled up and the valet opened our door, tons of COCKROACHES scattered over the hood and trunk of our car. We were shocked!!! We asked the valet and they condescendingly told us that this is an island and cockroaches are abundant throughout Hawaii. They kept telling us it was normal and all cars in Hawaii have cockroaches. We were being gaslighted!! It is not NORMAL for your car to be brought to you with cockroaches crawling on the outside! Especially at a 4-5 star hotel!!! This was the most disgusting thing I have ever experienced at a hotel. They could have tried to help clear the car of the roaches. Nope! They did nothing. We will never stay at this hotel again. Oh, and the breakfast buffet is always packed. Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes. The complementary coffee area is dirty and always out of creamer. This hotel is not what we expected for what we paid. It needs to be cleaner and have better customer service. Hyatt emailed me back with a standard apology. Great. Thanks.

5 stars all the way
Just finished up a 2 week stay. Nothing but great things to say. I loved the various infinity pools. There are 3 of them on 3 different levels, each with a wonderful view of the ocean. Really a unique configuration and it worked really well. The beach is wonderful—plenty of room for chairs and the water calm and relatively warm. And unlike some other beaches in Wailea, you could walk on this one for quite a while. The breakfast buffet was great—much to choose from. What made it unique is that if you wanted an omelette you ordered it through your server. This is better than having an omelette station, because you didn’t have to stand around waiting for your omelette, rather it is brought to your table. The lounge is great for sunset cocktails. There’s also a pop up bar in the lobby that serves cocktails during happy hour/sunset. And a special shout out to Mallorie at the concierge desk, who coordinated all our dinners and various boat trips. A wonderful vacation at a wonderful resort!!!!

Well Designed, Happy Place
Pristine, self-contained, not pretentious. Activities were superb, esp the ukelele teacher the famous Derick Sebastian. Very patient and we actually learned something. Great yoga pilates and outrigger tour, all included. Rooms had a unique and large shower. Views were great. Restaurant was over-the-top good (Black Cod) and not that expensive - except for the $110 bottle of wine. Separate pools for separate moods. Kids sure had fun in the lower pool with it's gentle slope. Artist-in-residence has some nice pieces. They are doing something right as the employees all seemed genuinely happy.

Best Experience Ever!
Best resort we’ve ever stayed at! The views, the service, the pillows 10 out of 10! The beach crew is one of the best you’ll ever find. The snorkeling was amazing. We saw everything from huge sea turtles to gorgeous octopuses changing color. They have the most beautiful yoga views you’ll ever experience and not to mention whales jumping in the background! The pool crew will set you up with as many chairs as you want so no need to rush down and save chairs. Amazing service! Can’t wait to come back. They just gained two customers for life. Mahalo Andaz!!!
