Never again!!!
We write this review half way thru our stay and at the tail end of a global 5 weeks long holiday that included the Caribbean, NYC and now Hawaii! While the location is perfect and Waikiki is an iconic location. We must say we are a bit disappointed with the hotel. We are a family of four … and although we could have gotten two rooms, because of how the hotel presented itself online we decided to go for 2 queens seaside view room with the Longboard Club offering. Upon arrival, it took forever to check in… and although the staff was and is friendly… you can tell the service is mostly geared towards the main Japanese visitor, the concierge service is good but they’re always trying give you stuff for free as long you spend time looking at timeshares by Hilton. The ammenities are ok, - but the rooms (or at least the one we got) is definitely not as expected/advertised… rooms feel awkward, there is no space to seat, housekeeping is every other day, towels are small, not hotel like and the bathrooms are just small and look like they were build in the 80’s - we pay close to USD$650 per night and is definitely not worth it! The Longboard Club is good, ok breakfast (anlthoug limited choices) and service is great. The afternoon session is another thing all together… wine selection is very minimal, beer needs to be served by a waiter (while access to the club is restricted, so not sure why is done that way) pasta is cook to order but is flavourless, lastly snacks offered is like a who’s who of snacks that the world doesn’t like! The pool/lounge area is so small, it feels like done in purpose so they force people to get out of the hotel, the elevators take forever … its hard to explain… they just take forever to get to your floor - the service elevators move faster! The restaurants are super expensive, yet no “famous” chef or specialty, lounges across the pool or the rest of the hotel for that matter are super uncomfortable… might be the enormous amount of people in the hotel. Overall… we love Hawaii, the people are lovely, the experience is always amazing, the shopping is great, unfortunately we won’t be aver be staying in this hotel ever again.

Alohilani Resort and recommend the Longboard Club
Exceptional hotel experience. Beautiful views from the balcony. Really nice infinity pool. The Longboard Club was great for delicious breakfast and dinner. Plus, the staff was top notch in helping us with great suggestions and making us feel like family. Would definitely go again!

Try the Italian restaurant!
Wonderful resort. Great location and service. The building has been well renovated (except for the bathroom within our room). Highly recommend the Italian restaurant in the lobby and if you need a car for a single day or two, use Sixt car rental (you can return at any time in the evening directly to the Alohilani valet and avoid overnight parking)!

Best place in Waikiki
Best place in Waikiki. It was my first time and will time and time again! Beautiful resort, staff, and views. Convenient place right by everything. So many amenities and offerings of events every day. I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Waikiki now.

Beware the fees taxes and charges
Beware the hidden taxes, fees and charges. The longboard club IS NOT a one-time flat rate of $150. It’s $150/ day plus a bunch of other fees and taxes each day. Kiss your $300 deposit required at check-in goodbye and plane on a couple extra hundred being tacked on. I expected to drop some cash on this trip but I try to be smart about it. When they hide this info it can completely blow your budget out of the water.
