Long Beach City Beach
The main beach in the LBC is Long Beach City Beach. Pre-1940s the beach was home to huge breakers and became the mecca for longboarders. Then the city built breakwaters, which may be a big bummer for surfers but creates the ideal family and swimmers beach with sandy shores and calm waters. Along the long stretch of south-facing beach, you will find Belmont Veterans Memorial Pier to the east and Bluff Park that stretches parallel almost the entire length of the beach. -
RMS Queen Mary
The RMS Queen Mary, permanently rests in the Queensway Bay as a retired ocean liner from Great Brittian. Active from 1936 to 1967, the ship now serves as a floating museum. During World War II, the RMS Queen Mary was assigned to ferry Allied soldiers and converted to a troopship. Once the war ended, she was refitted once again as a passenger ocean liner. The Queen Mary, along with the RMS Queen Elizabeth, operated as a two-ship service for transatlantic passengers. -
